Given that 4 years ago the meeting was near Knott's, why is this news significant?

The annual meeting wasn't, or so HAD claimeth The Blade. The article has since been amended. It had said it was the first time ever.

The Blade erred. Things aren't changing much there!

I can understand the hyphen in "Carowinds" in the mobile version since "winds" is on a separate line from "Caro", but one would think they'd fix that for the full article ("Caro- winds" as it says).

Besides the fact that you have to subscribe to the electronic edition to read the entire article (seriously? You can't even read all of today's news for free?), they've got oddball spacing to prevent having to break lines in the middle of words, and the link at the end of the article to the "e*Paper" version is broken.

Cedar Fair has sited the Annual Shareholders Meeting elsewhere previously. But like many companies they tended to do so when they wish to shield management from retail shareholder questions.

This new direction probably signifies a desire to rotate the annual meeting to reach-out to more Unitholders and further develop a broader base of retail Unitholders beyond the current Ohio headquarters. If they rotate meetings they are getting away from the Cedar Point as the center of the universe thought process. This is most likely good news.

Note the meeting is being held at a park still overseen by a former CEO Kinzel kid.
