coasterfanatic83 Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 I went to CP with my cousin today, and had a great day! Our longest wait of the day was for hot dogs at Pinks. Many rides were walk-ons, and Soak City was nearly empty. We also got to talk to Mr. Ouimet for a few minutes, which is always fun. He confirmed to us that the Sandusky Register was correct with the wing-rider for next year. Also, Celebration Plaza and the Luminosity area looked great! Overall, an excellent day on the lake! Quote
jcgoble3 Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Let's see here: A while back, someone claimed that Mr. Ouimet (I think) effectively told him that SOB was done. Later, another poster reported seeing and hearing suits discussing what sounded like plans for SOB or its replacement in public where guests could overhear. After merely being told "yes, there's a limit" on Fast Lane passes last year, this year someone reported that Mr. Helbig stated the actual limit. Now you say that Mr. Ouimet confirmed the Register's story even though the official announcement has not yet been made. If all of these reports are to be believed (and I personally do believe them), then I like Cedar Fair's new approach of more openness and less secrecy. It's refreshing to get actual information instead of a broken record that tells us nothing new. I strongly believe that Mr. Ouimet himself is responsible for this change. Quote
rsipus13 Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 hey coasterfanatic... you couldn't have told me you were going? would have been nice to see some one from here. Quote
TTD-120-420 Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 It was a really fun day. We met Rob Decker, also, along with Ouimet. Surprisingly, we weren't the ones who brought up next year's ride. Ouimet asked if we saw the paper and said the ride animation video was amazing. They were both really nice. Quote
coasterfanatic83 Posted June 1, 2012 Author Posted June 1, 2012 He said they had one readied up and that it looked good. I doubt it is even completely finished yet... And rsipus13- I didn't know you were there until I saw the topic on here that night... sorry Quote
TTD-120-420 Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 It isn't released to the public. Ouimet is obviously one of the people who would see the video before it is released. Quote
rsipus13 Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 well we may have seen each other with out knowing... so there's a possibility that I've seen you. Quote
coasterfanatic83 Posted June 2, 2012 Author Posted June 2, 2012 Probably... there weren't too many there, so I assume I saw you at some point. Quote
rsipus13 Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 well did you ride power tower at all? i rode it 6 times just because its right there in the middle and had no line. or dragster right after it re-opened? or hour and a half after? Quote
coasterfanatic83 Posted June 3, 2012 Author Posted June 3, 2012 We rode PT once and tried to get on TTD but it shut down while we were in line around 7:00ish Quote
TTD-120-420 Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 We were some of the few people in Soak City. Quote
The Interpreter Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 ...one of the advantages of a separate gate, which serves as its own sort of Fast Lane (as did no season passes before that and ride tickets before that). Quote
TTD-120-420 Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 The real advantage was the high was 68 degrees. Quote
