Coasting for kids event song ideas for 2012

Featured Replies

Last year at the coasting for kids event we were singing songs as we departed and came back to the station. We need some good song ideas to sing while we marathon Racer. Please post your song and if you have a youtube links so we can practice them before the event. Thanks!

Here is a song we sang quite a bit last year.

Great idea! One that Mrs. Gator, GatorGirl & I sing at the top of our lungs in the car is We Are Young by Fun. As we were leaving the park Sunday night, a group of girls behind us started singing it as loudly as they could, and so we joined in!

Here is another one that should not be to hard to sing. Rolling in the Deep - Adele

Maybe one side of the train can sing the main vocals and the other the backup lyrics?

*sigh*

I'm crazy enough to do this event, but not quite crazy enough for this. I'll have fun listening to you guys, but probably won't join in. (I'm not a music person anyway.)

I cant participate in this event, (infact I never really have!), but a good song idea is going off the rails of the crazy train (You should really ask what kind of songs me and my buddy does on roller coasters, we even dance!)

So, what de we have so far?

Journey - Don't Stop Believin'

Fun - We Are Young

Adele - Rolling The Deep

Ozzy Osbourne - Crazy Train

Sounds good to me!

Wait why didnt I think of it, Land Down Under - Men at Work!

This it Gator?

That's the one. I tried posting a link to that very video yesterday, but the internet filters here at work prevented me from getting to it's Youtube page. I was going to suggest Crazy Train too, but I figured that was already on the list because of it being sung last year.

Great song ideas Oldiesmann! Jonathan, I can't carry a tune in a bucket. Heck, I am still looking for the bucket to carry the tunes in, but this does help make the event more fun!

Here is the Land Down Under lyric video.

We could change the words to Row Row Row Your Boat:

Row row row your coaster, gently up the hill,

Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, life is just a thrill!

I got the idea while riding Beast with Tom76257 on Friday. He was making paddling motions while we were going up the lift hills, and when we hit the final break run he stuck his "paddle" out the side to stop the train.

This one is so obvious, I don't know why I didn't think of it before! We Will Rock You by Queen.

We could even do a little Bohemian Rhapsody... "I see a little silhouetto of a man..."

Wow - wish I could be there if only to hear y'all singing. I wonder if Red Racer ridership will be greater than normal on Sunday!

^ There are only 43 participants registered, and of those, only 35 have met the $75 fundraising minimum. So the second train will be far from full, meaning fewer riders overall.

I'm having trouble getting people to donate. :(

Time to turn the frown upside down.

Just got $50 donated today with another $25 guaranteed from someone else. Hoping to exceed my goal of $100
