HWBeast1039
Not sure if there is already a topic about this, and I apologize if there is. But the Voyage at Holiday World since the track work is incredible. I can actually have my hands up the whole time without fear of being broken. The jack-hammering at the bottom of the hills is completely gone and the spaghetti bowl is nice and smooth. Also, they haven't added railings to the rebuilt spaghetti bowl part and it's kinda scary without railings . Also, one thing I noticed is that the front seat of the Voyage has MUCH more intense airtime than the back seat. It's crazy, and if you get a chance to ride it this year, do it! TombRaiderFTW
Thanks for sharing. I'd heard that the retracking did the ride good, but I haven't made it to Holiday World yet this year to find that out myself. I'm very excited to make it down there... We'll have to see how things are looking after finals. (Has it really been just over a year since I was there last? That's insane.) How about Raven and Legend? When I was there last (opening day 2011), Legend was running well, and they'd done a great job with the stretch from the lake turn to the fifth drop on Raven, which were a bit rough in 2010. (I use the word "rough" loosely... I consider my best Beast rides to be rougher than my worst Raven rides, and my best Beast rides were this year. Beast is great in 2012!) TTD-120-420
Do rides at Holiday World have a lot of down time? I'm going Wednesday for my birthday and with me being used to Maverick and Dragster being down every twenty minutes, I'm kinda nervous about missing out on something. The Interpreter
Maverick and Dragster share a manufacturer with a reputation for down time (yet see Millennium Force). HW rides are usually very reliable.
TTD-120-420
But Terpy, a wise man once told me Millennium was a B&M creation.
The Interpreter
You have a very long memory. And even Terpies have brain spasms. When they do, they are typically doosies!
Joncars05
I was at Holiwood Nights this past weekend. I will say the ride is in great form. The only part of the ride that I would say was rough was the left hand turn (I believe right at the camera) there was major jackhammering but it lasted only 2 seconds. Other than that the ride was purely amazing!!! The offseason track work they put in paid off very well.
jcgoble3
Yes, the Voyage was very smooth indeed. Enough that it stole the #1 spot on my wood coaster rankings from the Raven. I rode in the very back a few times, and it would have been difficult for me to figure out that I was in a wheel seat if I had not already known that. They did an excellent job with the retracking work.
TTD-120-420
Should I start the day with Voyage? What do you suggest I do first?
Vortex
Good to hear the Voyage is smooth. Went last year it messed my back up.
jdawg1998
Should I start the day with Voyage? What do you suggest I do first? I would, also because it is in the back of the park and most people start in the front. The Voyage is pretty much the furthest ride back besides Pilgrim's Plunge.
TTD-120-420
Do the rides have bins?
thunderbeast1968
I went on Sunday June 3rd for the first time. Work your way up, Raven, then Legend, and lastly The Voyage. It's awesome and something finally dethroned the King of wooden coaster (The Beast) The Voyage is my new #1 wooden coaster. Sorry Beast and Kings Island. TDD 120-420, did you say that your birthday was Wednesday? Mine is too (June 6th) Happy Birthday. Trip tip- If you go to the water park. Rent a locker. You need $10, for the entire day(you can come and go from the lockers all day) $5 locker charge, $5 deposit, which you get back, once you return your key for the day. jcgoble3
Do the rides have bins? Most, if not all, have shelves in the station you can leave things on. The three woodies, the three water rides on the dry side of the park, and Sparkler also have free lockers you can use for the duration of your ride. No, my birthday was May 26th. With graduation and baseball and tons of other things we didn't have time to go on my actual birthday, so we are going tomorrow. Happy birthday to you, though. thekidd33
Seems like there are a lot of good reports about Voyage coming from those that were at Holliwood Nights. Glad to hear its back to its former glory!
jbt
I'm surprised to read reports about the Voyage being a smooth ride. My first visit was Holiwood Nights last week and I thought it was pretty rough. Not quite as rough as Gwazi at Busch Gardens Tampa, though... ouch. Comparing Voyage to The Beast ride I had tonight, I'd say Beast is smoother. TTD-120-420
After riding Voyage three times yesterday, all I can say is wow. If you haven't been there yet, go...RIGHT NOW! Suprisingly, I think The Legend was just as good as Voyage.
