Browntggrr
There are actually dedicated jobs for "shampooers" to make the list? Guess you learn something new everyday!
Gordon Bombay
When I started at Kings Island in 2005, minimum wage was $5.15 in Ohio. A rides associate started out at $6.50 - not a bad deal and there were plenty of hours, benefits and friends that made that such a great summer. By the end of my seasons at the park, I was a seasonal manager making less than $10 an hour and supervising over a hundred associates on multiple crews. A few times, "raises" for line associates were trumpeted when in reality minimum wage just went up. Kings Island/Rides Associate jobs can be a great experience and my eight season time at the park was certainly well worth it and a great time in my life, but the pay is in no way what kept me coming back and in the end why I took the opportunity I have now. Browntggrr
^ Were you eligable for OT pay, or were you exempt (thus screwed) due to seasonal work?
Gordon Bombay
^Ha Ha, what's overtime? - The guy who worked 82 hours in one week when WindSeeker opened and the other manager was on vacation.

Captain Picard
I remember making 3.25 hr and thinking the ones making 10 had it made.
Outdoor Man
I personally like the LIfeGuard's making the list- because above all you want the lowest paid person in the room responsible for resuscitating you back to life if you almost drown. jbt
Love the stock photo straight out of 1993. Check out that gnarly haircut (which, admittedly, I probably had at the time).
Thrill_Biscuit
That looks like the pog-flippin' summer of 1995 haircut

Outdoor Man
I'm sure my confiscated Pogs are still in a teacher's desk somewhere... agreed. teachers tend to be pack-rats. My wife still has a "R2D2 Robot" that her mother (who was a teacher) used that pre-dates her birth by a decade. My wife hasn't taught in 6 years.. but we still have the lousy space eater. I'm guessing your pogs are right where they've been since that day.
Dalefan
Note that they are talking about all themeparks.
