TR:TR Picture?

Featured Replies

Hey, when's the last time anyone say TR:TR's picture booth open? I have only seen it open once the first time i rode back in October of 2002 (or whatever year it opened)

Who knows, I bet not many people bought them. Ive seen many people buy pics on like beast and Vortex and such but Never on TRTR. I never would. Its probably just like a one year thing.

well no one's gonna buy them if it's not open..lol i'd buy one. and maybe if they lowered their prices they'd get more business rolleyes.gif . i know it doens't cost $8 to print one picture

It hasnt been open this year and i have rode it twice... so i dont know if its open anymore... I would buy one, but i always buy a picture

I dont think Colorvision has opened that booth in over a year. Not since TR's opening season.

The photo booth for TRTR closed after its opening season, most likely due to not making enough money. Didn't photo booth return to FoF the season after TRTR's photo pooth closed?

Yes, i believe that Flight of Fear`s On ride Photo returned last season. However, last season was also the season that they removed the on ride photo from Face Off I believe.

atleast if they don't plan on having the booth open they could remove it. i mean i always get excited when getting off the ride wanting to go see my picture and then i go to find the curtains down dry.gif

Well I believe there were many reasons for this closing

The Photo, was not very closeup, and you had many people in your shot, also it had to be taken with two camera's in spots and numerous times it cut out the middle man. or woman...... so it wasn't very practical.

atleast if they don't plan on having the booth open they could remove it.

But that costs money.... and lord knows PKI won't spend it. I mean, look they've left Tiques South sit for years, unused.

Remember, you are one person out of many. While there is more than one person that bought pix, there prolly weren't enough people to make a profit. While I too wish they brought it back (I might use my employee discount), I doubt it. Of course, we have been surprised in the past (can anyone say FoF? I knew you could!)

TR:TR picture didn't sell well because most people don't want an onride photo on a flat ride. That and they are very expensive.

Well, there is an on ride photo on the Wild Thornberrys River Adventure and Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle. Those are both "flats" with on ride photos, although those attractions are more geared to families and not thrill seekers like TR:TR. Remember that Adventure Express used to have an onride photo as well. It used to be located right before the turn into the first tunnel and the photo booth was located where the remote control cars are. They removed AE`s because it old technology (black and white pictures). TR:TR`s photo booth was removed because they weren`t selling enough and making enough money. Rather than tear down the building, it is cheaper to just have it closed until they decide they can make some money off of it.

becuase they are being told to chiil out a bit. laugh.gif Seriously, for first timers they aren't really doing a bad job. biggrin.gif

Actually I found that pic on PKIs website, although I do have a pic of me riding TRTR from back in the day.

Right now, I believe that photo booth is being used for storage. Storing what, couldnt tell ya. None of our stuff, I know that much

People really don't buy the on-ride picture because the average person doesn't have any idea of what Tomb Raider:The Ride is. However other rides like The Beast you can show off that you went on it.

The Beast, however, didn't seem to take a picture of me when I was in the very front. We did it twice and both times we didn't see ourselves up on the moniters. We told the people that they just lost $8.

The reasons I think nobody bought pictures here are 1. They looked like class photos-you and 76 other people. 2. Pictures on rides like coasters= you can see what the ride is, Pictures on TRTR= you get a picture of you and the 76 others sitting in rows on the gondola, appearing to be doing nothing. Even if you just got off the ride, you couldn't tell what it was by your picture. There were no hints of what you just rode.
