Is Kings Island just for ride warriors or not?

I have been to Kings Island for many years but when I was tall enough to ride the thrill rides, I was scared to death. Now I have grown up a lot and have enjoyed all the thrills Kings Island has to offer. But a couple of my friends hate to ride rides. So my question is: can people still have fun without riding anything?

Depends on the people. I can have a grand day at Kings Island without riding a thing, and did in 2009 more than once, as I was medically restricted from riding due to then recent eye surgery.

Others might be bored to abstraction.

It also depend with whom one is with, the purpose of the visit, what shows are playing or dark and a host of other factors.

I still think most depends on the person. Some could enjoy watching an anthill all day. Others would be bored in Times Square on New Year's Eve.

If you don't ride anything at all? Maybe, I don't think it would be worth admission to just walk around the park. The money would be better spent on something else that everyone could participate in. If you just rode the smaller flat rides, I think it could be worth it, depending on the person.

$36 is a lot of money to essentially people watch, see a magic show, perhaps a british invastion show and expensive food that isn't as good as the cheaper options around the park.

However, if by not riding rides, you mean only the really big ones, then yes its possible. Depends on what their fears of the big rides are, there is all the stuff listed above, plus white water canyon, small flats, the water park, etc.... Its all dependent upon what they will or won't ride. For instance, if you limited me to just the roller coasters I'd be fine. If you told me I could only ride shake, rattle & roll, the scrambler & monster, I'd stay home while my wife would love it (and is essentially all she rode last year outside of kiddie land as those and Viking Fury were the only rides outside of Planet Snoopy that our 3 year old was tall enough to ride) I get sick on a ride like the scrambler, but it always amused me to watch our son spin around next to my wife and watching the smile on his face as the scrambler whirled him around.

In the end (or I suppose in the begining) you need to find out what they like and what specifically they won't try, and why. If its a fear thing, there is a chance you might be able to work them up to a ride on The Racers or The Beast. If its a medical condition, then you know what your stuck to and know what your true limits are going to be.

I think it varies from person to person, and even on the day. There are times that I go where I squeeze in as much as I can ride-wise, and there are visits where I may only ride a handful of rides and spend the rest of the time doing other things, whether it be chilling in the beer garden with whomever's with me over a cold one, playing games, shopping, etc. I certainly think it is possible to have a good trip there even without riding anything for most people.
