Seriously if any Admins are reading these forums anymore - is it possible to limit the number of new topics a user (especially a new one) can create in a given time period?

Seems like every couple of days we get a self described noob posting 5 new topics - most often covering something easily searched.

Either that or run an auto search on a topic title before allowing a new topic to be posted and ask "do any of these existing topics cover your question"?

Getting hard to enjoy these forums.

Like I said.. I'm a noob. Sorry

So will someone please help me with something. What's the difference between a "noob" and a "Troll"? I thought a "troll" was someone who got on here and started arguments just to cause trouble.

'Fear Flier' simply seems to be new to these forums and doesn't understand protocols here yet, but others want to quickly label he/she a troll. Why?

Isn't it a good idea to welcome 'noobs' here, help them with protocols, and make them comfortable to post instead of running them off by immediately calling them trolls? (which I understand is a very negative thing)

I remember when I was a 'noob' here and everyone was really patient with my lack of education about these forums. Standbyme even made a great improvement to my Avatar.(thanks again)

What happened?

What happened? We'll it seems like it keeps getting harder and harder for new members to post anything at all on the forums, whether thats the answer to a question, a new topic, or just spelling something wrong. Some of the members that have been a part of KIC the longest seem to be the ones to jump on the case of the others the fastest.

We could always do what CWMania does. You have to:

  1. Type out a response.
  2. You then submit it to an admin/mod.
  3. You wait and wait and wait until you receive an email stating "Your post has been approved." It gets really hard to do this ^ on those forums.

Same goes for new topics.

Granted, that's a lot of pressure on the people who run this site, and I wouldn't want this to happen to us.

I agree. Alot of the funny, snarky and spontaneous posts that the mods would have to remove because they didn't add any new information to the topic would make these forums bland and not nearly as entertaining to read.

About the trolls. It's hard to read a topic the next morning when lot of troll posts have been deleted. Go away you Trolls!!!
