Browntggrr
This is just a reminder to please drive safe with your head on a swivel when in parking lots. I am not blaming the driver in the article in any way, this is one of my driving "nightmares". http://digital.olivesoftware.com/Olive/ODE/SanduskyRegister/LandingPage/LandingPage.aspx?href=U0RTS1kvMjAxMi8wOC8wNw..&pageno=Nw..&entity=QXIwMDcwNg..&view=ZW50aXR5
Dieseltech20
Hitting a child with ones car is not something I would wish upon anyone. It WILL ruin your day.
windshawne
Hitting a child with ones car is not something I would wish upon anyone. It WILL ruin your day. And your life. A classmate was speeding on the road behind my house (on a motorcycle) and hit a kid that had wandered onto the road. The boy was killed. I saw him a few weeks ago and he looks like he's 70 years old. Imagine living with that every day. It scares me because I see kids darting in traffic all the time at the park.
flightoffear1996
So very, very, sad. This is just one of the few reasons I upgraded my braking system on my car.
KI-ORIG-EMP
As they say, speed kills! Slow down, obey the speed limits, and for God sake, do not drink and drive and for all kids and adults, stop the texting on your phone while driving. That text you feel the need to check while driving will be there when you finish your drive. Take note when driving in parking lots, in school and residential zones and look both ways constantly and turn down that music. Driving is enough of a distraction and keep your eyes on the road. Thankfully, my experience wasn't tragic. I could not even imagine that. He just ran blindly onto a major highway. The young boy got quite an earful from his father and the Policeman, that just happened to be his Football Coach.
LongliveKingsCobra
I was hit by a truck when I was in Second Grade. I was running out from an ice cream truck. The last thing I remember before waking up at the hospital was a lady in a car parked on the other side of the ice cream truck saying, "watch out for the truck, watch out for the truck"... apparently I didn't listen.
Tanna
I, too, got blipped by a car as a small kid. The driver happened to be my father's friend and I recognized him. I felt worse for him than I did for myself. We were pushing a car that stalled in front of my house, and I zigged instead of zagged. To be honest, I'd love to go through the air like that again, if there were a big mattress at the landing point.
