Voicetek
Anyone else make it out to the park today to enjoy all the $1 specials at the park? The girlfriend and I decided to take a trip out to the park today and take advantage of all the deals. We weren't sure what the weather was going to do, but we decided to go to the park just to grab some pizza and ice cream! The deals were great! And the best thing, mininal crowds at the park! I was actually kind of surprised because of it being a holiday weekend with $1 food and games. We enjoyed some LaRosa's pizza for a buck a slice first. We then grabbed another slice later on in the evening at another LaRosa's location. A bit later it was a $1 blue ice cream cone and before we headed home, we grabbeda few bags of cotton candy for a buck each. I loved all that they offered today, it was quite a deal! It would be nice if they did this more often. If anyone else was there today, did it seem like more people were eating in the park? We noticed quite a few people eating pizza and ice cream, and we noticed many, many bags of cotton candy being held by the guests. It seemed like more people bought food. If this was the case, I wonder if Kings Island made more or less in food sales. I wonder if this might entice the park to lower some food prices? I know if the food was cheaper, we'd eat there more often. I'd be curious to know what they made in food sales even with the dollar specials. If any of you make it out there this weekend, try to keep an eye open and see if you notice more people eating in the park. I'd encourage everyone to try to go before the weekend is over and take advantage of some of these deals! They were a lot of fun and well worth the trip!
The Interpreter
Indeed, a great promotion. That being said, it is most attractive to local passholders and those who were coming to the park anyway. I, for instance, am not going to drive up from Atlanta to save on pizza and ice cream. Even if I lived two hours away, it would not be a deciding factor.
Original
^^ I see what you mean, I live 4 hours away. We were camping on friday and saturday, and we were supposed to stay last night and head to cincinnati for WBEN fireworks and Kings Island. Issac wasnt bothering us on friday, and we had a nice day. Saturday we went on a 7 mile kayak trip, which was fun. We also did a scavanger hunt, and went to the nature center to see snakes, bunnys, turtles and other things. But after that..... Issac showed up and it rained, rained and rained.... my mom was in the tent sleeping (it was dry in there), my brother was unerd the little pop up "shelter" and my moms boyfreind and I were looking at the radar on his phone deciding wether we should leave or not. The rain wasnt looking to good so we started to pack up. My mom and my brother got in the truck and me and my moms boyfreing packed up in the hard rain, and drove home. I went up stairs in my room and just fell on my bed resting so I could have enough energy to brush my teeth ( )... well.... I fell asleep for the whole night... Now Im on KIC telling you guys about it! I dont know if we are still going to see the fireworks, and KI but I hope so. (Sorry for the long post.)
VortexBFForever
^Really? I live about an hour away from KI. I don't know for sure yet, but there is a chance I might be going tomorrow. (I'll post a PTR if I go!!) Must be great having tons of things available to buy for only $1 each! I agree that the park should do things like these more often.
TheCrypt
You were there too, Voicetek? Sorry I missed you! I rode Delirium and Viking Fury in the rain! Fun times. I do agree with you that the $1 pizza/ice cream/cotton candy/merch/games was a very nice perk, and it made me spend over $30! The hotdogs are very good for amusement park dogs, and, I'm not sure if this is new or not, there is a Beast souvenir cup, similar to the shirts they sell.
