Cedar Fair LP, which three years ago saw the price of its stock dip to around $6 a share on the New York Stock Exchange, on Wednesday posted a record-high share price during trading and closed on a record high.

The publicly traded company, which owns seven water parks and 11 amusement parks, including Cedar Point in Sandusky, reached a high of $36.48 per unit shortly before 1 p.m. and closed at $35.80 per unit. Its previous high was $36.01 per unit on March 10, 2004.

No mention of the great price that Dick Kinzel and his then Board suggested holders sell their units to Apollo for? The price he, with a straight face, asserted was a fair deal?

Gee.

I think it was back in 2010. And the price he suggested they sell at was $11.50 or $12 I believe. A far cry from the price that it is currently at.

Simply amazing what can happen in two years!

The October 2010 index points were in the mid 9000's and just two years later, has been steadily above 13,000.

Even my home value has increased in that time!

It was $11.50 a unit. And were it not for Mr. Raynor and Q, Apollo probably would have acquired the company for a mere pittance, compared to its worth.

Ever think about an alternate universe, where equally alternate enthusiasts ponder what would happen if Kinzel hadn't sold out to Apollo?

Seriously, I told my dad we needed to invest when it was at $7. He didn't listen. :(
