Sno
Was going through some Guega Lake stuff, and came across that the trains from a wooden coaster Named "Villain" were moved to Kings Island after the park was closed. Even though it was closed in 2007 and Sob was operating then, i feel like it may have had something to do with Sob. Any thoughts? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Villain_%28roller_coaster%

malem
Don't believe Wikipedia... Good Wikipedia articles are cited, so you don't have to. Even though it was closed in 2007 and Sob was operating then, i feel like it may have had something to do with Sob. Any thoughts? I think that the trains were just moved to KI for their parts, If I remember correctly...... In 2007, Son of Beast was using trains from the same manufacturer as Villain's. Sno
So it can be assumed the trains were used for parts?

jcgoble3
And I was partially responsible for getting Cedar Point to Good Article status Then what's your username there? I see that there is an http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:ListUsers&username=Maverick00&limit=1'>account named "Maverick00", but it has never edited. From the GA review, I'm guessing you are Astros4477 or GoneIn60? I use the same name on Wikipedia that I do here, just with the annoying capital first letter that I hate and decapitalize in everything I have control over. Maverick00
Astros4477, I have a small note on my user page about my Maverick00 name here. I've always wondered if Goneln60 contributes on Kings Island Central because Kings Island looks to be his home park.

TOPGUN1993
Well now you have....3 Original SOB trains3 Villain Trains 1 Raging Wolf Bob Train (formerly on Legend at Holiday World)2 Red & Blue SOB trains (formerly on Hurricane in Myrtle Beach)and 1 Monster (from Canada's Wonderland) https://maps.google.com/maps?q=kings+island+ohio&hl=en&ll=39.341635,-84.25907&spn=0.000557,0.000603&sll=40.365277,-82.669252&sspn=6.352341,9.876709&t=h&hq=kings+island+ohio&z=21
TombRaiderFTW
Wonder what they're going to do with them now that SoB's gone. From what I gather on other forums, there apparently was a Screamscape rumor around 2007 that KI was considering using them on Racer and/or Beast. If that was legitimate, I wonder if that's still under consideration. They've certainly got Gerstlauer trains to spare (3 Villain trains, 1 RWB train, and 2 SoB trains = 36 unused cars). An 8-car Gerstlauer train would have approximately the same capacity as one of Racer's current trains, and there would be enough cars to put two trains on either Racer track (and have cars to spare for parts.)Personally, I'm expecting KI to sell all trains to the highest bidder for parts. It's just an interesting thought.EDIT: One of the Screamscape quotes, courtesy an old thread on Coaster-net.com: The latest rumor buzz about all those Gerstlauer coaster trains sitting at Kings Island has taken a new twist. If the latest rumors are true, the one flat-fronted train design from the Raging Wolf Bobs may very well end up as a third Son of Beast train. However the other three more stylish trains may be put into service on The Beast itself as the maintenance crew is said to be ready to retire the existing PTC trains on the ride. After a side by side comparison season between the PTC trains and the Gerstlauer trains added to Son of Beast in 2007, it seems the maintenance crew may be favoring the G-trains. TombRaiderFTW
Eh, possibly. I'm just playing the devil's advocate for the sake of conversation. I really don't have an opinion on what trains the park uses on any ride so long as the ride runs well. I'm moreso suggesting that, if the park liked the trains enough when they were on SoB, I'm sure Gerstlauer would sell them the parts/services to fix whatever needs fixing. If there are any salvageable parts on the old trains, the park could then use them on the renovated ones (or sell them, if the park attempts to sell them.) homestar92
Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the Gerstlauer trains two rows per car? If so, I would absolutely hate to see them on Racer or Beast. I don't like wheel seats on woodies unless it's 1-1. Or did I miss something and we're talking about different trains? PhantomTheater
The G trains from GL and the ones used on SOB are 2 rows per car.
BoddaH1994
The best possible fate for the SOB trains is being parted out. They sat out in the elements for years after SOB went SBNO.
