Dollywood's dress code is pretty conservative, especially compared to KI's, and specifically covers that situation. It's fine as long as it is joined both top and bottom and does not pull in enough to show nipples - button-up shirts must also be buttoned high enough to keep them covered. Cut-off and midriff shirts are allowed but all shirts must cover at least 3/4ths of the torso. Swimsuit tops of any variety, even a tankini or the upper half of a one-piece must be covered with an opaque shirt.

I have to admit, it was nice to not have to deal with mostly uncovered individuals all summer last year.

I dont think women should be walking around in bikini tops at Kings Island. Its bad news either way,im either disgusted or im covering my 12 year olds eyes and listening to my wife complain about how trashy that is! Its a no win for me!

OK, back on topic. I just checked out the souvenir cup online purchase. $9.99 versus $12.99 in the park.

Turns out there's a $5.99 processing fee and sales tax added to the online order and it says delivery fees may apply(pretty sure the delivery fee is a a disclaimer, since you would just print a code for a cup to be picked up at the park).

So, I'll just pay $12.99 plus tax at the park tomorrow.

Also, off topic, anyone had problems with passes renewed online? Last year we had to go through processing even though the renewal went smoothly.

I can tell you that I renewed online several years in a row when I always got my platinum with Kings Island and it always went smoothly. That's the ONLY thing that ever went smoothly about my platinum pass, but that part was smooth.

The only problem I ever remember was one year when they tried to tell me at GR that my pass was only good for one free visit after the renewal. I politely repeated that it was a RENEWAL, and was told, but you used your one free visit. ...feels blood pressure rising tremendously and a little more angrily spoke... My pass is a renewal. Are you trying to tell me that because I renewed my pass that I invalidated what is left of my season pass for this season???? I've never seen a GR backpedal so fast in my life, and then all was fixed.

The best way to avoid season pass drama is probably to renew at Guest Relations at a park where it's staffed well. At least at Kings Island, there are people there who know the ins-and-outs of the Paramount Parks/Cedar Fair gate software well. They assured me that my pass was "ready to go", and indeed it was.

When you renew some other way, no one is checking the status of your pass as you wait, and people are still having problems in 2013. (My educated guess is that you're relying on either a batch process or an employee hired for data entry.)

Every Platinum Pass I've ever had problems with was purchased or renewed at a Cedar Fair park front gate. One was processed by the head of Guest Relations at Kings Dominion. Most of the others were purchased or renewed at Kings Island.

I've had NO problems with passes purchased at Six Flags.

So, what is your advice for me? To Go Big?

To process a new pass every year, and keep the old one as a souvenir.

Which hasn't worked. Newly processed pass from Kings Dominion didn't work at Kings Island.

And vice versa.

Last year's remedy was to visit Mr. Reid-Anderson's establishments instead.

This year, I have a new Kings Island Platinum Pass. Will it work at KD? Dorney? Stay tuned!

im sorry but i think this is bs. ive been coming to Kings Island for 8years and never had any problems with bringing old cups. i wonder if any other parks will be doing the same

All the Cedar Fair parks are supposed to. Most already did.
