PKI Homepage Posts New Construction Pictures

Featured Replies

Looks like the work on Delirium has really slowed down. I hope the crappy weather we have been getting will not effect when the ride actually opens next spring.

That picture made me think... hehe... i saw jeff siebert at sears... hahahahaha. i dont know why that's funny.

They added like 9 pics on Jan. 11th. One of them shows a pic of the laser guns on the cars.

Oh man those new pcitures are making me get excited for the 2003 season to start! Not that I'm not excited already! I can't wait!

PKI Rocks!!!

If you really look, construction has stepped up a lot. The parts have been on site for awhile, but no vertical construction. Now things are going up. I call that an improvement!

Me to Tom. I don't see how you could think Delerium construction slowed! It has increased by about 100xs. There is a big differance in pouring a hole and putting 2 arms of a ride in the ground.

The Construction workers work at a pace they can handle because of weather permitting, parts coming in. The construction has moved along very smoothly with these two attractions i'm looking forward to getting on both of these two rides even though the scooby doo haunted mansion is in kiddie land it won't bother me about that because I want to get on it because its for the whole family to ride and I have never been on anything like it before..... biggrin.gif

Delerium seemed to be put up pretty quick to me. Scooby should not really be affected by the weather.

That depends. The inside of Scobby might not be slowed by the weather, but the outside sure could be, which coudl delay the ride. They can't do metal work, whene verything is covered in ice and snow, and you can't pour concrete if it is too cold outside. I think they probably thought about this, and built in some snow days, but overall we have seen tons more snow this winter, as compared to past winters. I just hope these factors haven't set the ride back too much or at all. The inside may be done, but without an entrance and an exit, the inside is pretty much useless!

The outside can be done in like a week I'm sure. I doubt there will be snow in late March early April. I'm sure they thought about this already.

Could be, but on the other hand (playing devils advocate), Cincy hasn't seen this much snow in one winter in sevearl years. One can only hope PKI took winter into account when building these rides.

I'm thinking you are right. That is our Delirium on what looks like a testing ground, maybe at Huss in Germany, before itr was shipped over here. Both videos are cool, as you can see how the ride will look while you are on it, or walking by it. Maybe this item needs to be moved, to its own separate post, so everyone can see the awesome video clips.

Thanks a lot, I am glad I could share them with everyone! I really think the videos of the ride at Huss is The PKI Delirium!!! Check it out and tell me it you think the same!

It looks exactly like it..... I am pretty sure you found the real thing.

Whoa! They painted the test model just like ours?! Okay. i'm not really that dumb. of course, that would be the one we're all going to be riding in 60-something days.

I'm pretty sure that is our Delerium. Thay almost always put rides like those together before they ship them, to make sure it actually runs correctly. But im curious how they will make the loading platform. Someone mentioned something like the platform splitting in half or something like that. It sounds like a good idea.

I'd not really sure how there could be any doubt... No other park would put in a ride that ugly. That's definately ours.

I went and saw Delirium in all its glory today while at the park. Its just about finished. The control building just needs to have the exterior put on and its ready to go. There was a cherry picker up at the motor when I got there and the one side was covered in a big tarp. They were probably hooking up the electric or something.

The thing everyone has been unsure about... the floor. Aparently the base of the ring is partially in the floor. The floor will lower and each of the 6 or 8 (not sure if it was an octagon or hexagon shape) sections will split and rotate in, thus slanting down. One of those sections has yet to be put in yet so I could see in. It seems they will start testing it sometime this week.

The fountain base (the concrete) is all there under a huge tarp to protect it from the weather. All the fountain tubs (the 5 or 6 bases that rise up) are all off being painted and remade to look new. All the lights were removed and waiting nearby to be replaced.

Oh, and the second train on Top Gun will return this season. That ride is not going anywhere for a while. I saw it too.

I'm pretty sure they just repaired the tubs, I don't think that the actual trains were ruined. I just think it was the tubs. Obviously Huss didn't put up TR:TR over there or they would have gotten a video of it in action, and it wouldn't have so many problems.

You cant be sure they didn't put it up. They probably did, but they didn't run the program designed for TR, and so that program created problems, in sychronizing it with the effects and the on ride photo, among other things, im sure. Just because it had problems...

Yea, but they had problems they shouldn't have had all of those problems that they did. Like the screeching it made while rotating, and the brake line rupturing. I don't think they did put it up, but that's my oppinion.

The brake line rupturing could just have been caused by anything. Maybe the line was damaged while they disassembled the ride in germany or while shipping and it was internal thus no one saw it until it ruptured. Or it was just a faulty line to begin with and was only a matter of time. There are many reasons for that, and none of them would prove that they didn't assemble it before shipping.

The screeching isn't something that's going to be detected if they put it up in germany, its probably something they forgot to oil. It kinda makes you worry about Delirium though, like maybe it won't be able to stand up to the weather... time will tell though.
