teenageninja
On Delerium's page there is a movie of Paramount Canada Wonderland's Psyclone. It is basically the same as Delerium, just a different manufacturer. If you want to see how it's going to work, go watch the movie. It does take a while to load though. Shaggy
Did you know that that movie was shot by Iian Henry, a Canadian ACE member? That is right, he nearly worships the Mondial ride at PCW and made that video of it. PKI contacted Iian and asked if they could use it for promotional purposes. He agreed and the rest is history. So, to any of you budding ride filmers out there... you never know who may be watching and what may come of it. But dont' take this to mean that you should pester any park and ask them to use your videos. If they want it, they will seek you out. teenageninja
If you do make a movie of a ride hoping a park will use it make sure to not have on ride footage. You will definitely not get it used than.
Beastfreak
Unless you have permission from the park before you shoot it!!
mars1825
Click on this link and scroll down on the page to get the full movie. There's also a lot of other great movies too! http://www.coasters2k.com/downloads/
teenageninja
Actually I don't even think the park would led you film, unless you had some sort of device to secure it to a train. Thanks for the link by the way, the videos there are pretty good, alot of them move way to fast though.
Beastfreak
Not always, I have heard people having to use a surgical glove and duct tape the camera to their hands so it doesn't come lose. Other ways are mounting helmet cams or other things. Its really not too difficult if you have the stuff.
teenageninja
But those end in poor video quality because you shake. I think that the movies on coasters 2k, that the camera was mounted, that or the person who was filming was incredibly good.
AZ Kinda Guy
Now don't let this thread give you guys any ideas or you might have to get a lecture from us ride ops!
Beastfreak
Like I said though, don't do it unless you have proper approval by the park. They will make sure everything is safe before the train leaves the station.
teenageninja
Definitely, they don't want something that's going to hurt customers and the ride. And they def. don't want you to lose your money.
Dane
Ok back to the subject, I waited and watched it at school (Fiber optic connection ). It wasent all that fun to watch. It just gave you an idea of what I looked like moving. Althow my fav. scene was the shot of it at night.
teenageninja
I just hope it has those sweet lights on the bottom. It would add some flavor to Action Zone.
Coasterfan
I'm just hoping it will take some traffic off of Face/Off. That line is usually really long. Maybe it will shorten TR: TR's a bit too.
PKICoasterFreek
Here is a place that you can see exactly what delerium is going to look like in motion http://www.hussrides.com/32giantfrisbee.htm You must have Quicktime OR MPEG to see the ride in mothion, it short but it look a lot like delerium, if not EXACTLY like it!! Check it out! www.hussrides.com/32giantfrisbee.htm
Inraider
I hope it shortens TR:TR'S line! I love the ride dearly but that line can get soo stinkin long! At least there will be more to choose from this year, that will surely decrease the line on everything!
teenageninja
Coasterfan, TR:TR line should not be affected to much by this. TR:TR line is short if you go on Monday or Wednesday. ::Drools.:: You have a great find on those movies. If that inride is accurate (which I am sure it is) that ride is going to rock. That is Delerium, it has the same color scheme and well it's the only Giant Frisbee. If your interested they have PCW's Sledge Hammer (Jump 2) on there also. mars1825
A Jump2 would be nice, but I would really like to see a Topple Tower. That ride just looks insane. Huss could even make a giant Topple Tower if that's all PKI will buy. I would just love that ride!
PKICoasterFreek
I think it is delerium before they took it apart and brought it to PKI!!! I look exactly the same!! It is going to rock!!!Can't wait! PKI Rocks!!!!!
teenageninja
I think it is Delirium. I think since TR:TR didn't work as good as they thought it would, they would put together Delirium there and test it to make sure it runs right, and from the videos it looks like it does. Beastfreak
Pretty much all flat rides are assembled and tested before they are shipped. At least they are when they are the first of their kind.
teenageninja
I don't think Tomb Raider was because it didn't work properly most of the season.
mars1825
Just because Tomb Raider didn't work right all of the season doesn't mean Huss didn't put it up before shipping it to PKI. Did you know that even Top Thrill Dragster, the tallest and fastest rollercoaster in the world, was put up before it was shipped to Cedar Point. Ride manufacturers have to test their products before shipping them. Do you think they would just ship it out if they didn't know if it would work or not? matt3224
They don't just start building the pieces to a coaster unless they know it will work. I'm not saying that they didn't put TTD together before....I don't know. But they do know that it will work because they design it on comps and know the statistics to it.
mars1825
I'm not saying they just build it to see if it works. I'm saying that they build it first to make sure that there are no problems with it before shipping it out. Computers aren't perfect so you never know. They definitely have to test new concepts out because they have no experience with them before. They might miscalculate something and not know it. It is always safe to double check your work, and that is what they are doing.
teenageninja
It could have been put up before I doubt it. I know TTD wasn't put up that's for sure. Xcelerator was the test verstion of TTD.
mars1825
Click on the link below and read the second question. This will prove my point. http://www.topthrilldragster.com/public/in...estions/qaa.cfm
teenageninja
Notice it says a TEST TRACK, not Top Thrill Dragster. It was a model of it, but not it speciffically, it just needed to test the speed an angle to get to that height, it never actually went through a full circuit.
Beastfreak
Coaster companies rarely build a full scale model of the ride or build the ride and test it before it is sent out. Xcelerator was tested in Europe before being built in America, but they only built the launch and a brake run. Nothing more. There are photos on other sites that prove this, a simple search online will find them. Flats are another question since they are much smaller and easier to install, hence the reason most are in fairs and are transportable. Only one way to find out. Wait until the chat with Jeff Siebert is rescheduled and ask him if he knows.
teenageninja
Sounds like a plan Chris. I could see where TR:TR was tested and wasn't. I'm almost sure that that is our Delirium on the test movies though.
