Drop Tower most feared ride at Kings Island?

Featured Replies

From a pole I took in the park, about 70% of those polled said they feared Drop Tower. How can the most feared ride in the park also be the most underrated? How do you feel on this topic?

I'm reporting you to the police, you shouldn't be taking poles from amusement parks! Do you know how long they can throw you in prison for that?

I saw a person actually kissed the ground after riding Drop Tower last year.

Most feared I think the height gets so many people but really its a great ride!

I love the ride myself. I was honestly shocked when Drop Tower was the most common ride that was mentioned. This pole was taken June 2013, I thought I would get reactions like "The Beast", or "Diamondback", I will be doing another pole in August to see if I get the same reaction.

I wasn't aware asking people what the scariest ride in the park is was illegal,, I guess I wont ask anymore. lol.

That's not illegal, stealing poles is what's illegal.

Pole, as in light pole? Flag pole? Stripper's pole?

I'm fascinated you were able to take one of these from the park...please expand on this. :)

Yeah, I feel pretty darn retarded. I just got your jokes. Alright, lets Haze the new guy!!!

But Drop Tower is a pole ride!

Oh, God, please don't tell me you took Drop Tower! I hope you just took a light pole.

^Don't worry about it, everyone here hazes everyone, not just newbies.

Yeah that college degree did real well there, I cant believe I didn't get that right away.

Please no!!!!!!!!! Don't take the pole!!!!!! :)

Well, Drop Tower is the one I ride the most. I average around 600 to 1000 rides per year. Funny that the thrill rating is only 4.

Well first you need a lookout, and then a diversion to occupy security. lol.

Just watch your wording. "Retarded" is insensitive and not a word we use here.

My apologies.

Don't worry, you'll soon learn that The Interpreter is a master of Diversions!

Drop Tower is just about the only attraction you can jump off, and get right back on. My average is about 70-80 times a year.

I think I'm a little different when it comes to being freaked out about rides. If I walked into Kings Island right now and walked up to DT, I'd be like "no way"!! Freaks me out just to look at it. However, I've ridden it twice (still can't believe that), and I wasn't the slightest bit bothered either time I rode it.

Let me reword that for the people that think they could survive a fall from 315 feet: When the ride has stopped and the restraints are lifted, you may then jump out of your seat and get back on the ride! rofl.

After thousands of rides on Drop Tower, I still get the sweaty palms and the elevated heart rate when it reaches the top. Great ride.

How many people did you ask, Coaster Addict?

I polled just under 200 people. 175 To be precise.

I'm not a huge fan of Drop Tower but I'll ride it with my wife. I've survived every time. So far.

Ten of the people I asked said they'd never ride it. I offered one woman 50 dollars to ride the Tower, she replied with " Ugh, no I'm good." Drop Tower literally makes people fear for their lives. Most first time park visitors rule out Drop Tower in the parking lot.
