Kat Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 boy that is going to be one nice station... I like the windows in the bottom of it!!! very nice. I'm super excited to see this progressing I can't wait til the landscaping starts. Thank you David for the update! 8
steveinphoenix Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 What was it they were digging Myklhicks?
Sonofbeast2.0 Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Can't wait to ride this bad girl! I'm probably getting to go on April 17, and this year, for the first time, my family has gotten Platinum passes! 2
sikkinixx99 Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I'm curious if we will get a look at the trains when they arrive? 3
steveinphoenix Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I would like to see how they put the trains on the track 5
Thrill_Biscuit Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Inverted, of course. [runs for door]... 18
homestar92 Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I would like to see how they put the trains on the track I can tell you exactly how they'll put them on the track. Carefully. -Homestar92, heading for the door right after Thrill_Biscuit 17
Diamondback FOF Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I would like to see how they put the trains on the track They will be slid onto the track somewhere around the transfer track. I believe Diamondback's trains slide out of the back of the storage shed 6
sikkinixx99 Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Not a complaint just curious if we will get the new camera to pan left a bit so we can see the outer loop being put up? 2
myklhicks Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Why does it look like they poured extra concrete around that support? If you click here it'll take you to one of davidw's captures of angle 2 of the construction workers smoothing out the concrete. 4
dwainw Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 It certainly looks like they did frost-proof those footers for some reason. Could it be that they went ahead and grouted the top of those footers? Also, I'm thinking those are likely the lowest footers on the course. Edit: Well that didn't take long - the next support is up. 1
Millslite Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Looks like another piece of track is about to be installed. At least it seems to be staged right near the support. 1
sikkinixx99 Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Really wish we could go see this beauty when the track work is done.
CoastersRZ Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 You can see it when track work is done. In April when the park opens. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BeBjRMYCYAAtmcW.jpg The above image was posted to KI`s Twitter. Last pieces of track leaving the manufacturing plant in Batavia. 8
sikkinixx99 Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Dumb question here. Do they weld and bolt each track piece together or just bolt them?
CoastersRZ Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Track pieces are bolted together. They then come back and grind smooth where the actual tracks pieces joing together, in case there were slight tolerance differences. 9
davidw Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I know its a long shot, but I was wondering if anyone else is capturing all of the webcam images? My script stopped working overnight, and I missed about 6 hours of captures including the support and track that was installed this morning.
Gplez90 Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Why does it look like they poured extra concrete around that support? If you click here it'll take you to one of davidw's captures of angle 2 of the construction workers smoothing out the concrete. If i had to guess, theyre probably doing some grouting. Thrill_Biscuit Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 This picture makes me want to break out the old RCT1 and see how far I can fling cars from my unfinished coasters (in unmanned test mode, of course)... 9
LoraX Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Someone turned the heat off here at work. I would like them to man your car. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
myklhicks Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Looks like they're digging under the start of the loop interacting with the lift hill. 1
Colonel_SoB_fan Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 This picture makes me want to break out the old RCT1 and see how far I can fling cars from my unfinished coasters (in unmanned test mode, of course)... It's much more fun with people. 12
sikkinixx99 Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Speaking of loop where the loop that goes around the lift hill comes out and starts to go up to the zero g roll did they build a concrete block by the bottom of those supports? 1
sikkinixx99 Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Haven't seen a picture yet but it looks like that last pieces of track have arrived at the staging area!! 1
steveinphoenix Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I hope they pass my guess of 3/3 today. 3 supports and 3 track pieces. So far its 2/2. 2
steveinphoenix Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I am starting to see white fluffy rain. A.K.A., snow. 4
Kat Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 noticeable changes on the webcam already today I wish I could spend all day watching the cam but I work in a warehouse so I can't 1
Gplez90 Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I hope they pass my guess of 3/3 today. 3 supports and 3 track pieces. So far its 2/2. looks like theyre assembling support #3 so you may get your wish Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 4
