Adventuro Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 I'm pretty sure more supports wont go up until Thurs/Fri based on Greg's tweet.
myklhicks Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 looks like they're about to lift up the first piece of track for the lift hill.
fryoj Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Yeah, its hard to tell from the cam, but it looks like they have the lift motor track in place now.
Adventuro Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Am I the only one who is getting unnaturally excited 2
thedevariouseffect Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 What's the difference between natural and unnatural excitement That sounds dirty dunno why 4
jdf21972 Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 It is looking good to start on the the first uphill this week with new track arriving!
upstop Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 What's the difference between natural and unnatural excitement That sounds dirty dunno why I could tell you, but your ears might burn. 1
myklhicks Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Don's Instagram has a new construction photo of the lift motor track going up.
Diamondback FOF Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 It appears as thought the next lift piece is being prepared to be lifted
thedevariouseffect Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 What's the difference between natural and unnatural excitement That sounds dirty dunno why I could tell you, but your ears might burn. ooOOOOooo 1
jcgoble3 Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 The crane has just lifted a piece of track into the air!
jcgoble3 Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 I can't tell if the track piece is in place yet or not. Slingshot's left arm is blocking my view.
medford Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 I believe its roughly in place, though it was only a few moments ago that they were raising it up, so its probably not bolted down yet. 1
Shaggy Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Wow, just saw the webcam, I knew the lift would be steep, but that's REALLY steep! 1
RailRider Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 The lift hill angle reminds me of this for some reason. 12
Vortexfreak Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Track for the lift is going up I didn't think we would see the lift going up for awhile. 1
upstop Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 The lift hill angle reminds me of this for some reason. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DI2GGYppq7E 3
Adventuro Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Lift hill looks about 40 degrees to me. That's pretty steep
TheBEASTunchained Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 While were on this subject concerning the steepness of the lift hill of Banshee.... I decided I'd contribute with a question and an inference...... (Sorry for the sloppy edit, I just wanted to make an example...) (Original photo, courtesy of KingsIslandPR) So if we said that the picture above was an up-close of the lift track.....That would represent the steepness of Banshee.... The below picture is the steepness of Diamondback's lift hill..... (Photo Courtesy of Drew Borg of the DrewBorgBlog) Make your observations of the steepness now....What do you think?... Or you could compare it to B&M's most recent inverted roller coaster, Oziris, As seen here... http://rcdb.com/9675.htm?p=37943
Adventuro Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Both pictures are at a slight angle whichever it hard to determine. But it does look a bit steeper than Diamondback. 2

Markdb96 Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 Diamondback's life hill is 40 degrees, I'm going to guess that Banshee's is 40-45, it looks a bit steeper.
thedevariouseffect Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 I'm guessing it's 40, same as DB, Gatekeeper, ect...probably looks steeper considering the track is below, the way the bend looks, ect...but I can't be too certain, but just a guess
RailRider Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 Lots of Blue Supports showing up this morning. 7
Adventuro Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 update: They have now installed the supports for the bottom of the first drop. 1
upstop Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 I'm guessing that the lift hill is as high as it's going to go until the loop around it is finished. 1
