Hey, did anyone eat at Mandarin Cuisine yet? The architecture from the outside looks awesome - and authentic. And the inside has great Asian murals and lanterns.

The menu is great. They offer cashew chicken, chicken lo mein, General Tso's chicken, Bourbon chicken, Pepper Steak with onion, pork fried rice, and more! Mandarin Cuisine even offers SUSHI (which is Japanese not Chinese).

And the food is quite tasty. This ItalianChef recommends Mandarin Cuisine when visiting PKI!

I can't recall exact prices, but I think that entrees are $6 and change, sushi is $4, and for $9 you can get combo meals (2 entrees plus rice/noodles and an egg roll). For PKI or another amusement park, that ain't bad!

I'd love to have a very nice or even "FANCY" resteraunt at PKI! Anyways, Mandarin Cusine rocks! its a little expensive though, but yet, so is everything else in that park except air!

What about water?is water costly at PKI? hehe laugh.gif....i like how the Mandarin Cuisine looks and smells but there is a bad side to it...The Nick Store is Connected to the Mandarin Cuisine and now the Nick Store Smells funky!!!! cool.giftongue.gif

Actually i think it was 9.94 for 2 entrees noodles and an egg roll with a drink. Also there are free fortune cookies. I think Mandarin Cuisine is a great resteraunt and I really like it.

Any idea what kind of sushi they serve, and whether it is made fresh daily? Sushi that isn't made fresh daily is unhealthy for you. I like California Rolls, though when it comes to sushi. A little soy sauce, some wasabi to spice it up a notch.

I haven't been able to see it yet... Just wandering... are the employees dressed in PKIwear? Or do they get to have different uniforms? I think it would be dumb if they wore the Park Uniforms...

Since they are not technically employeed by PKI only contracted, they do not have to wear the PKI associate wardrobe. They wear their own dress (whatever that might be). I know they were these cool Chinese hat thingies since Waren County Health Department rules say any person preparing food must wear a hat or hairnet.

I ate at "Mandarin Chineese" on April 12th. (Around 1:30 if anybody really cares)

Atmosphere is wonderful, but I do wish them more customers. I had the General Tso chicken, which was not quite like the General Tso chicken I get at my favorite Chinnese place, the Blue Gibbon. The food at the PKI restaurant is about on par with a shopping mall food court orinental restaurant.

However, the value for price is actually pretty good. I had General Tso Chicken, with a brocoli garnish, a generous heaping of Fried Rice, an eggroll, and a fortune cookie for about $6.50, the massively overpriced soft drink brigs the total check to just shy of $10. (To compare the lunch price of General Tso at the Blue Gibbon, which would include the General Tso Chicken, premium vegetables, fried rice, and a cup of soup is $5.50, so the price markup is not that bad.)

Mandarin Cuisine's "sushi" are California Rolls. Since I don't eat seafood, I didn't try them.

Sweet, A Plus for me. For all those interested, you might want to try the Sushi as generally california rolls are made with imitation crab meat, not real crab meat.

A little off topic but someone asked about the price of water... water glass of ice water (or just water) is free in the park if you ask for it. Why pay for a bottled water (somewhere around 2.50 I think) when you can have water for free?

Posted

Cause it doesn't make the park any money.

People don't get the free water mainly cause the Coke and everything else is just placed in their face and the thoughts going through people's heads is "lets get our food and sit down" so they rush and get the first thing they see.

Hmmmmmm....I love Coke...But BeastFreak your right people just wanna hurry up and sit down with there food and they get the first thing they see...but when i get something i make sure i know what i want because lets face it PKI's Food is Expenisve! smile.gif

Some people like the fact that it's in a bottle because they don't have to drink it all or throw it away before they get on the ride, and they can refill that if they want, or buy another one. Also, some people don't know you can go up to stands with a tap and get free cups of water.

I always get the free water from the stands. You have to keep hydrated to enjoy the park. Im not cheap though i pay for eal drinks when i sit down and eat. Food=Money= New ride and attractions

If they pull the cash from somewhere else, then the park wouldn't make any money and they'd either stop adding, raise the prices, or close the park. Admissions makes a lot of money, but food is just as important, along with merch.
