BB1 Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 What are your thoughts on The Bat returning? Quote
thedevariouseffect Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 I voted twice. Glad, but I will miss Top Gun theming...the under station walk through was quite enjoyable and will be missed 1 Quote
CP&LERR Fan Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 I will probably forget to call it Bat and call it flight deck. Quote
LoraX Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 I've rarely called it Flight Deck (most rides I call by whatever old name they used to be). Calling it The Bat may be easier. Maybe. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Quote
upstop Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 It's probably going to be Top Gun The Bat for a while to me....maybe even Top Bat, 6 Quote
LordSkippy Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 I forsee issues..."...and that's why The Bat was torn down.""What do you mean? The Bat is right next to Banshee.""No, I mean-"Either way, I do think this here is a real good thing. 8 Quote
ChainDog Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Very glad to see its return. It is going to freshen up Action Zone along with Banshee and create a new appealing environment in that section of the park. 1 Quote
Screaming_Chicken Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 This news makes me GREATLY Happy and Excited! 3 Quote
HarvestmanMan Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 It's probably going to be Top Gun The Bat for a while to me....maybe even Top Bat, Top Flight Bat Gun Deck, anyone? 11 Quote
thedevariouseffect Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Lets just refer to the ride as Personality Disorder 5 Quote
KIMonster14 Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 I think it is safe to say 2014 is gonna be a great season so far. 4 Quote
upstop Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 ^^ Don't forget the unofficial names of Swoop and Thunder Road to that string. How about "Thunder Swoop Top Flight Bat Gun Deck Road." 9 Quote
jcgoble3 Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Lets just refer to the ride as Personality Disorder That name belongs to what is currently Woodstock Express. 11 Quote
The Interpreter Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 ...which is the Kings Island coaster most likely to be renamed again in the future, perhaps several times. It's a fairly odd coaster, which has had some incredible licensed and/or trademarked names. Perhaps the best one of all was abandoned due to corporate vanity and desire for pecuniary gain. 13 Quote
Diamondback96 Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Please, KI, bring back Beastie! 16 Quote
CP&LERR Fan Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 ^I've always liked that name better than Woodstock express. 5 Quote
fanofFirehawk Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 When I was getting of Surf Dog I heard a kid no older than 5 say: "Come on Mommy, lets go ride The Beastie!" My Dad gave a chuckle, and I, a large grin. 7 Quote
BeastForever Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Paramount should've never changed the name in the first place, that was one of their biggest mistakes IMO. However Cedar Fair then names it Woodstock Express with the introduction of Planet Snoopy... Bottom line is that I don't care what the theme of surrounding area of the ride is, it should've always remained The Beastie. At least since it's obvious now with the announcments of Banshee and Bat that Ouimet seems to care about parks' invidual history of old rides and ride names, maybe, just MAYBE, we'll see WE return to it's former nominal glory. 2 Quote
upstop Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 They were/are advertising their cartoon characters....Even when it was Beastie, Scooby Doo and gang were present... Quote
tuxedoman52 Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Dang it! I just started to get used to calling it "Flight Deck". I'm glad though because it was very confusing to some when I said Flight Deck they thought I meant FoF and vise versa. Quote
The Interpreter Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 They were/are advertising their cartoon characters....Even when it was Beastie, Scooby Doo and gang were present... Uh, Scooby Doo and gang are not now nor were they ever Paramount characters. TimeWarner owns them, having bought them with Turner Broadcasting, who had bought them from Taft. Kings Island had the original non-exclusive park license from its Taft days. That license has since expired. The current theme park licensee is Six Flags Entertainment Corporation. 2 Quote
CoasterMyths79 Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Did they say that they were getting new trains? Quote
JTW Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 The current trains will most certainly be refurbished and painted. Quote
Gemini XL-200 Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Personally I'm really happy that the same trains will be used since I really like them. I haven't ridden in the floorless ones but I think I'd rather have our current set. I also have no issue with the same restraints being used. Overall I really like the new name/color theme and I think it will look excellent. I would like to see some kind of station retheme to make it fit with the name a little more, but if they don't I'm still happy with the name change and the new color scheme. 4 Quote
ChainDog Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 I'm happy the same ones will be used too. Banshee and Invertigo both utilize the other type so this provides a different experience on an invert Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2 Quote

myklhicks Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 I'm personally going to be able to get used to calling it "The Bat" faster than I did calling "Top Gun" "Flight Deck." 2 Quote
