GreenGhost2003
Yeah Lil Bill isnt that Popular is he? i guess i will be taking my Cousins this year to PKI so they should really like how Nick Central is Turning out with Spongebob,Patrick Star,The Fairly Odd Parents,Rugrats there to greet them...But most importantly i wanna take em so they can Ride & See Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle in person
PKI Punk
I would like to see Bob the Builder like everyone said, he is pretty popular among kids, definately more than Lil Bill.
Beastfreak
Dont be surprised if thats not all thats new for entertainment......... They won't be... There will also be the daily (or almost daily) Nickelodeon Parade. A new and improved Paramount Theatre with a new "movie" revealing how movie magic comes to life. Again both things mentioned at No Coaster Con in Chicago and going in at all Paramount Parks.
SML828
Entertainment is really goin down the crapper... Each year it slowly gets worse and worse... I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the department disappears (for the most part) within the next couple years...
Scooby_Doo
Nickeldeon Parade? Sounds Paramount is goin with a DISNEY angle!
Shman
Don't get your hopes too high about the Nick Parade.....it is only a short run special event, kinda-like the Tomb Raider show, and don't expect anything of Disney quality, the parks don't have that great of a budget. It is traveling through the Paramount Park circuit and will only be here for a few weeks (month tops...I think) Although I am glad to hear that the park is finally going through with the parade idea....it has been thrown around for years now, in fact that is one of the reason the HB arch was taken down. As for the paramount theater the new upgrades should be pretty nice, the benches were all falling apart, and it will be nice to see a better looking "theater" portion of the building.....now if only they would fix the leaky roof and dranage system As for what SML828.....as well as you know the department you should know that we are not going anywhere anytime soon. Some day it may come down to there only being one facility or one show left, but there will still be something there....it just won't be the high quality of the olden days. PKI Punk
Well like was said in a different post, PKI is going to try to become a theme park(like Disney). Maybe PKI will see how this parade idea goes and in a few years become almost lik Disney. Wow 100 Posts!
SML828
Shman - Yes I know it well never be entirely gone...That would be a sad day if that ever happened. But I gotta admit, I miss the old days...back when I was younger up to my first year @ ET & SP. That year was one of my favorite years ('96) in the park. Back when every facility had a show, plus there were swing shows, the TV Land Band (a good-enough equiv. to the Clown Band of yesteryear), and SP's show was at night. Can you believe we could actually fill that place multiple times in a week! Gotta love those ET/SP Double Shifts...they flew by! I didn't know PT was getting a makeover. That sounds like a good thing! Completely new benches or just fixed/cleaned? I guess it's just strange seein how much things have changed. I've heard rumors about the Nick show possibly not happening much longer - You know anything for sure about that? That would be a big mistake - getting rid of the last kid's show. I just can't imagine the park without a show with a character in it (still mourning ET!). See I did get it back to the character topic! Scooby_Doo
I agree with PKI PUNK Paramount Parks are becoming MOVIE BASED THEME PARKS which in my Opinion is a Great Idea Now i Think the Nick Parade is awsome wonderful idea The Tomb Raider Show Kicked major booty Now if Only Paramount would have Shows like Tomb Raider and Parades with the Nicktoons i think Adults and Kids, And the Young at heart would Love PKI more!i woulnt Mind seeing PKI or Paramount parks for that matter turn into a IOA or be more like Disney

DA RIPPER
What about the Lord of the Rings? Is that a Paramount film ? even if it isn't it wouldnt be a bad ideal having chracters similar to those in the movie. Because of it's popularity and being up for 11 oscar nominations. kids would relate to it like Harry Potter.
DegenRider
Lord of The Rings is a new line cinema release. Which falls under Warner Bros. Some of the Warner Brothers Movie Worlds in spain and down under use it aleady. I do not think that licence is available.
WildCat
For those who are wondering why Bob The Builder is not in the park. Bob is owned by HIT Entertainment, not viacom. Little Bill on the hand, is owned by Viacom. Paramont Parks mostly proably didn't want to pay the licensing fees for the charcater to appear in the parks. Nicks still appear in the Universal Studio theme park in Hollywood and Orlando. I was done in December, I saw Tommy, Chuckie, and SpongeBob Squarepants. P.S. Kings Island need a walk around of Mighty Mouse. Edited January 1, 1970 by WildCat

coasterrz
I woould assume that the park would still sell some HB merchandise, considering their largest of the two children`s areas is themed to Hanna Barbera. At the very least they will sell Scooby merchandise because of the Haunted Castle being built last season. Howeve, I remember hearing in a TR from No Coaster Con that there will be a Nickelodeon parade in the park this season, which is a step in the direction of more theming like the Florida and California themers. Also, it is a step away from the classic Hanna Barbera characters that have been a staple in the kiddie land of the park for the past 32 years. Beastfreak
Seeing as how HB isn't owned by Paramount and Nickelodeon is.. it makes sense to me to no longer use HB stuff at all, obviously beside Scooby since it is new.

italianchef
PKI will have a parade? WOW! I suggested that to Jeff Siebert back in 2001 when I first interviewed him for my book. Though I'd like to think my idea played a role, I know it didn't. Personally, I'd like to see PKI become more and more Disney-like. Yes, PKI has a movie theme and thrill rides....so does Disney MGM Studios (and to a lesser degree the Magic Kingdom). And Disney has a family orientation as well....just like PKI. I think that PKI is moving in the right direction, except that it should return: 1. All Hanna-Barbera characters. 2. Grave Yard Shift (a show at the Paramount Theater in 2002) 3. Phantom Theater 4. James Bond: License to Thrill (at the Paramount FX Theater in 2000) Have a great weekend! Italian Chef
drewbari
Why not have Nick at Night characters but I think they schould bring back the Classic HB Characters.
DA RIPPER
That's a good ideal having a parade. think they will have it go around the park or just stay around the entrance?
italianchef
The parade could start in International Street, march through Hanna-Barbera Land, and end in Nickeloden Central.
Beastfreak
I think, since it is a Nick Parade, it will most likely stick around the Nickelodeon area. I don't think its meant to be long. Reasoning... longer parades the costumed people are on floats or vehicles of some kind. The parade route to I Street is too narrow for people, vehicles and the like. So must likely they would have to walk. Doing this during hot days would be killer to walk from HB/Nick to I Street.
