Ride On_17 Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Which you do prefer: Busch Gardens Tampa or Busch Gardens Willamsburg? I've been to neither park but have heard they are both great places. Just based on what I have heard, BGT sounds like it has an edge over BGW but I'll refrain from taking the poll since I can't fairly vote. Let the battle begin! Quote
The Interpreter Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Having good friends both places, I choose...both. 2 Quote
TheCrypt Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 BGT for three reasons: Kumba, Sheikra, and Kumba. 5 Quote

SOBwasaSOB Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 I have only been to the tampa location but I have been twice. It is truly beautiful and has very quality attractions. 3 Quote
JTW Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 I want to visit Williamsburg, but I have a feeling it won't be on quite the same level as Tampa. Why? The wildlife element of BGT is done in an incredible manner. 4 Quote
jcgoble3 Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 I've only been to the Tampa park, so I'll refrain from voting. 2 Quote
KevKenny Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 I been to Tampa once and Williamsburg twice so I'm going with Williamsburg 1 Quote
TTD-120-420 Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 I've only been to Williamsburg, but I'd go with BGT just because of Falcon's Fury. I've been waiting for a ride like this for quite some time. 4 Quote
upstop Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 That's a tough decision. Both parks are equally beautiful and fun in their own ways. BGW has an incredibly fun Halloween event...but then again, so does BGT. I still haven't been to either Christmas Town events, but they look awesome too. BGW is the most beautiful of both parks and BGT has the bonus of a zoo. Both parks have an exciting lineup of rides too. I don't think I've been to either park when it was uncomfortably crowded. Can't wait to get BGW....or BGT for that matter. 3 Quote
RailRider Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 I'm leaning towards BGW. Very beautiful park, has more character than BGT, and I enjoy the surrounding area of Williamsburg much more than Tampa. 4 Quote
The Interpreter Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Ah, but have you been to Mel's? Can't go to BGT without going to Mel's! http://www.melshotdogs.com/ Chicago Hot Dogs. In Tampa. Good ones! Who'd a thunk it? 2 Quote

Good ones! Who'd a thunk it? Or Skyline Chilli down the road in Clearwater. Yes I had to take a picture of the Fairfield pennant. Go Indians 7 Quote
Tuskin Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 I have never been to either, but I hope to change that this year. More than likely Williamsburg, but we will see. . 1 Quote
IndyGuy4KI Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 I have only been to BGW, but that was about 17 years ago.. I refrain from voting since of the longevity and not visiting both parks! 1 Quote
KevKenny Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 I'm going to Miami today and decided to look up BGT tickets. $80 for a single day is ridiculous 1 Quote
The Interpreter Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Tampa is a very fur piece from Miami. About as far as St. Louis from Cinci... 3 Quote
RailRider Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Ah, but have you been to Mel's? Can't go to BGT without going to Mel's! http://www.melshotdogs.com/ Chicago Hot Dogs. In Tampa. Good ones! Who'd a thunk it? Sorry not a fan or Chicago Dogs, prefer mine roasted over an open camp fire with standard condiments. Now for food the Whaling House in Williamsburg is fabulous and Captain Georges for Calabash Seafood is not too shabby either. 1 Quote
The Interpreter Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Mel's has virtually every type of hot dog imaginable. It's quite the place. http://www.melshotdogs.com/melsmenu.htm Quote
KevKenny Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 I have to see how the weekend goes, I didn't know it was that far. Maybe if I-75 was a straight shot and didn't go around the coast it would be shorter. But I find it hilarious how BGT has several different ticket options, give me the roller coaster experience and call it a wrap. Quote
RailRider Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Next time I am that far South and make it past The World I will check it out. 1 Quote

You're not in Ohio anymore. 5 Quote

Colonel_SoB_fan Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 I'm going to Miami today and decided to look up BGT tickets. $80 for a single day is ridiculous That's just under double of what Kings Island is currently. Now consider BGT has more: B&Ms, including Kumba the loudest of them all. Gwazi if you thought SoB was rough try this monster. Sand Serpent a fun wild mouse by Mack. Scorpion from Schwarzkopf. Falcon's Fury is under Construction Their pirate ship flips upside down. And finally Rhino Rally a ride that would of put a smile on Walt Disney face. As others have mentioned you can visit and feed the animals. Quote
The Interpreter Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 To the best of my knowledge, Rhino Rally is closed. It has been for quite some time. Did i miss something? Has it re-opened? Quote
XGatorHead 8904 Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 I didn't vote because I've only been to Tampa, but would love to go to Williamsburg (and back to Tampa). We went to BGT in 1997 as part of our honeymoon. We both loved the park, it was a great combination of thrills and zoo. I love Montu! 1 Quote
