It'd offer nice views, but I don't want to see the monuments from above necessarily, I want to be there in front of them. The Vietnam Memorial is alot more humbling standing face to face with it than above IMO. Gotta agree with the "better to see everything up front and close" thought, though. The monuments in DC aren't anything that can be experienced from above. You have to be there.
