Kings Dominion 40th Anniversary Singing Mushrooms

Featured Replies

I don't know all of the details behind this, but this seems to be one of the biggest (non-ride) attractions at Kings Dominion this year. Apparently this was a popular attraction at the park years ago (not sure when) and the park decided to bring it back for their 40th anniversary this year. (Terpy or anyone else familiar with KD, please fill in the details :)).

....TheBEASTunchained, who is hoping that the frog's ending spiel is still a part of the routine.....

If you have seen the 1977 movie "Rollercoaster" starring George Segal, Henry Fonda, Timothy Bottoms and a very very young Helen Hunt, parts of the movie were filmed at Kings Dominion and featured the original Singing Mushrooms with the Hanna-Barbera lyrics. Glad KD brought them back for the 40th anniversary season!

An amazing movie, in a decade filled with tons and tons of disaster flicks. One of my favorites!

^^^ That was the first time I was ever aware that the Mushroom's ever existed, when George Segal is coming into the sky ride station. "Hello to Yogi, hello to Boo Boo, hello to Scooby Doo."

Also Rebel Yell got repainted red, white, and blue.

I will be making my first trip to Kings Dominion on April 12th!! Very excited to see this park!!

Hopefully this was installed in a designated smoking area. Otherwise, the frog is in clear violation of the park's rules and regulations.
