Diamondback96
So I'll be turning 18 in about 2 months, so I was thinking about buying myself a Gold pass as a present (it's not like anyone else will give me one). I'm just not sure if it's worth it for me. I live 2 hours away, and depending on where I go to college, I may end up 5.5 hours away. Most likely, I'll just be an hour further away at most. I currently don't have a car, but I'll be able to use the family van once my parents get it back from my sister. Don't know if I'll be able to take it out of state though. I also don't know how often I'd get to go. I can only go the second week of June, and then I'll be going to WDW the third week. Rest of the summer, including most of August, should be free for me. I would just really love to be able to go to KI more than once a year. I hope to go at least once with some friends. I don't think I'll be going with my family at all due to the WDW trip. Does anyone have any advice for me? (The answer is probably yes.) Edit: Just want to clarify that I want a Gold pass. It gets you so much more for about $10 more; that's pretty obvious from the site. Captain Nemo
If you think you will be going to the park more than once then go for a pass, it pays itself off after 2 visits. My answer would be to go for it. I'll be returning from my job in Baltimore in about a week, I also plan on buying a pass even though I will only be in Ohio for 2 months.
Diamondback96
I think Gold pays for itself after 3 visits actually, but I still get the point. Thanks! Probably should have specified that I want a Gold pass. Oops.
tuxedoman52
It depends on if you live closer to CP or KI. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 2.5 hours to KI, about 5 to CP. 5 hours to MA as well. Probably could get a Platinum pass, since all these parks are relatively close to me. Diamondback FOF
If you buy a pass, you'll have a lot more motivation to visit the park

Diamondback96
Night ERT on Banshee and The Bat on May 9th? A Friday? Could we at least have another dat... Actually, never mind. That would be asking too much for the ride ops. Guess I need to get on that soon if I want to do that, and head down there right after school! Sebastien6221
If you are like me and only go once a year, then i would just get regular admission, then pay for FL+ and make a day of it.
coasterfanatic83
I would love to go to the ERT session, but I will be at OSU Day up in Sandusky!

I'm happy with the one (more than we've had since CP took over) but would have been ecstatic if there was also a late season Beast/DB night. KI having a ride night without The Beast being involved just feels wrong.
Sonofbeast2.0
Went to get my pass processed today since I upgraded from gold to platinum! Can't wait to try out other CF parks! Not sure if this was noted anywhere else but, the passes (all 3) have gotten a new look. KI's new gold pass, looks kind of throwback now. Sorry for the blurry pic, the sparklyness of the pass kind of killed the quality. As for the pass, if you think its worth it and can pay the monthly fee or all down at ounce then I think you should get it. Sorry i'm not much help...

UnrealNightmare
ERT stands for Exclusive Ride Time not Early Ride Time.
purdude86
I'd definitely say go for. The gold pass will pay for itself after two visits between admission, free parking, plus 10% off all food and drink in the park. And you can use it through the start of November for Halloween Haunt too. I live about 2 hours away myself and only make it out a few times a year but I have been getting a gold pass the past few years and haven't regretted it at all. The Interpreter
And at least one member here lives 8-10 hours from the park, depending on traffic, yet buys a Kings Island Platinum Pass regularly.... Sometimes, it even works at Carowinds. Be still my heart.
