May 21, 201412 yr This weekend me and the wife are deciding if we want to go to CP or KI Saturday or Sunday. I know it's going to be busy both days for sure, but which one will be less busy and for those of you who's been to one of the parks on Memorial Day weekend, what kind of waits can I expect? Thanks for the help! Ride On!
May 21, 201412 yr Author Yea I'm leaning towards that way. The Fast Lane pass prices are just so much, I can't bring myself to pay an extra 160 just for the day for 2 people.
May 21, 201412 yr Let me pull out my Crystal Ball and tell you what the park looks like this weekend.. Still nothing..
May 21, 201412 yr We will be there Friday. I have been contemplating going on Friday. I've been wondering if the fact that it's Memorial Day weekend will have any effect on the Friday crowd.
May 21, 201412 yr Free admission for military over the Memorial Day weekend begins Friday, so chances are it is going to be more busy than otherwise.
May 21, 201412 yr It's def going to pull from the base, several people in my shop are already going to go. They all look to me for advice too lols

What about Memorial Day itself? I figured Saturday and Sunday get pretty crowded, but what about Monday? My work schedule is brutal through at least the end of June so I'm trying to squeeze a day in May while I can!
May 21, 201412 yr We need a thread like this here too now I feel: http://pointbuzz.com/Forums/Thread/22760.aspx
May 21, 201412 yr Author I totally forgot about the free military weekend. I think its great Cedar Fair is doing that for our troops. It pretty much seals the deal for me though, I'm definitely not going this weekend. It's going to be busy enough, let alone all the free admission for the past and present military men and women.
May 21, 201412 yr That is some good information in that link (of course I would replace the Cleveland and Detroit part with Columbus & Lexington). Also another thing to always check for is local school schedules or random holidays (Election Day, Memorial Day, etc) for days that kids might be out of school.
May 21, 201412 yr Last time I had fun with a few of the recruiters there. So..what does it take to join the Army Guard, etc. hehehe. Always amusing. Can't this time though with current trip, plus I think my fresh high & tight will give me away
May 22, 201412 yr The last couple of years, Memorial Day Friday crowds have been worse than regular May Friday crowds, but still not bad.
May 22, 201412 yr At the risk of sounded redundant, I will say it again: Based upon my experience I find that 3-day holiday weekends such as Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day are not as crowded as you think. For example I was at CP Memorial Day Weekend 2 years ago and, even with the free military tickets, the park still was not that crowded. I am just speculating but I think most people simply would rather do other things on such holidays rather than going to an amusement park such as a family picnic or a ballgame.
May 22, 201412 yr I agree with markr with the exception of July 4th, the day it's self. I've been on that day/night the last several years and the crowds were rough. Nothing quite like opening day but pretty close. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
May 22, 201412 yr If I go on holiday weekends its usually for ERT , a couple more rides after the park opens maybe a show or two then leave (if its not hot enough for the water park)

That actually makes a lot of sense. I've decided that concern over crowd size will not be what keeps me out of the park this weekend; the ability to leave work early tomorrow and/or the plans my wife has for me on Monday are much bigger deterrents.
