I'm going with a newbie!

So I've been talking for weeks to my fiance about how much of a roller coaster nut I am and we decided to do an impromptu trip to Kings Island this Thursday and Friday. We were watching some videos on youtube and he tells me he's never been on a roller coaster or to a theme park and he's 37, I think my jaw hit the floor. I have been going since a very early age and I just can't even comprehend never having been on a coaster, he says to me "oh I've been on the scrambler", I chuckled and said well that's a far cry from a roller coaster! Now I cannot even wait to go this week, anyone else planning on being there, it's just the two of us and we are always up for meeting new friends.

Just some advice, don't urge him to go on any large roller coasters like Diamondback or Banshee. Start out on Adventure Express or Backlot, then move onto something like The Racer or The Bat. If he has never been on a roller coster before, then don't force him to do something that he isn't ready for. Anyways, hope you have a great time!

I can't believe you got engaged before this came up! :)

My husband doesn't like heights, which rules out most coasters, so I've gone very little in the past 15 years. I'd rather spend time with him than anyone else. This year I got myself a Gold Pass and have been going at least once a week by myself while he works. It has actually been quite nice, infinitely more enjoyable than inflicting something he hates on someone I love.

So, if it turns out afterward your fiancé doesn't like coasters, there's still hope :)

You might want to reconsider and go earlier in the week if at all possible. I've heard it is Spirit Song this weekend which is apparently a madhouse. I'm going tomorrow because other than Thursday (and possibly Wednesday) they're predicting the best weather.

Yes I do know it's the music festival but we are also getting platinum passes as we plan on going back a few times and also to Cedar Point for our honeymoon. He is not in the least scared and wants to go on all the coasters, he just has never had the chance to so this should be quite exciting,
