In the wait to re-enter The Racer station one day this season, a trashy guy behind me was complaining loudly about losing his cigarette on the ride. I don't know for sure he was talking about a lit cigarette, but I believe it was. He was mostly complaining about not being able to smoke while "stuck" on the ride. He was a real winner, let me tell you.

A woman in her fifties behind me in line for Adventure Express was smoking last time I was at the park. It is a particularly bad line to have a smoker in because it is so enclosed. I didn't feel like finding security because I was fairly sure they wouldn't do anything anyway. Fortunately there does seem to be a lot less smoking outside the designated areas than in the past.

The security got some guys in the BLSC line, but then again, it's out in the open, just walking by you can see the crowd in line.

What you described is why I want smokers to obey the rules and SIT DOWN in the allotted areas while they smoke.

That guy on Racer had a lit ember fly out of his hands and go backward. A cig is lightweight, just enough to land in someone's lap, who is not paying attention to any firefall, their eyes are probably on the track. Ruined clothes, burnt skin, panic, and why? What if it hit someone in the face?

That guy sounds like no one is gonna tell him what to do. I hate that type.

As smokers, we are given proper places, and some not so proper places, to stop, have a smoke, and go on about our day. There's always enough seating, there's always enough ashtrays. What is the problem?

If you get asked..

CP, smoking in queue is cause for removal of the queue. I typically enforced that hard, because I could usually hear and see people in the queue complaining. Besides get removed from one line they won't do it again usually.

I would bet it's enforced the same way, however not sure. Technically you're not allowed a beer in the queues, but..lol

The problem seems to be alot of smokers don't seem to want to sit down for a few min so they smoke as they walk between rides, i see it all the time. As a former smoker i understand the urge to have one all the time but when i did smoke i knew it was rude as he** to walk around with a lit one, especially with all the kids around and always used the designated areas; its not too much ask. And if your in a hurry and dont want to waste time, bring nicotine gum, lozenges etc.

LOL? Really?

Try that at Kings Dominion. Be a guest of the county. Technically.

I think some smokers simply wish we could go back to a more innocent time such as 1960 when smoking was basically a social norm with little or no restrictions. They do not realize that we cannot go back to that time with all that we have learned about the health consequences of smoking as well as the consequences of second hand smoke.

Most smokers today in the park(s) weren't around to live the "carefree days of the 60's". I have no specific rub against people that smoke- it's their choice. To me, though it's like standing next to someone on 95 degree humid day that hadn't showered in a week.

Someone who smokes and doesn't think about the smell trail behind them should be linked up with someone who has had a cocktail of onions and beans for an afternoon. It's not illegal to eat those things... or to relieve yourself from a gas build up. Those people tend to attract dim views.

It hit the front of the coaster train first and glanced off him...or he'd be the late Fabio, most probably. In his vanity and haste, he had demanded the park not send another test train first. Media had been riding somewhat earlier.

Word is he sued, but quietly dropped the matter.

I've been on The Beast when it hit a hawk that had landed on the track. Thankfully the Hawk didn't come of the front of the train and hit anyone; I'm 99.9% sure that I wouldn't have sued anyone had it actually come over the first row and hit my son or I. It was definitely quite a sight, something my son still talks about every time we get on The Beast.

It's unfortunate it was handled this way. However, honestly blood on a raling isn't an emergency, at least in my eyes as medical. Blood can be cleaned/disinfected rather quickly with no issues honestly. My issue that I haven't seen taken care of was the mans bleeding. How quickly was this taken care of?

Well therein likes the rub--he was basically told the exit the ride after refusing the bandaid and wasn't offered a chance to have first aid come out to clean the wound and gauze it up. I found that strange to say the least. I agree blood on a railing is no big deal, but they should have had us wait at the ride entrance, not in the crammed exit cue that obviously wasn't designed for people to stand 5 wide in without moving.

I already addressed your posts and search engines in another thread earlier today.

I'm mainly just busting your chops, but I do look at many of your posts in 2 separate, contradicting ways:

1. Why can't he just speak in terms that everyone can comprehend, like everyone else on here does?

and

2. I enjoy learning things and I learn something new pretty much every day on here from thedevariouseffect, either from him sharing his experiences as a ride op and/or in the service, or by doing a web search for half the stuff in his posts that I don't know what he's talking about.

So while sometimes I am initially annoyed by an occasional post of yours littered with your lingo, I almost always leave the discussion with more knowledge than I had beforehand, and for that I thank you. You're certainly a unique and informative poster.

Always welcome..

99.9% of the time, I don't post acronyms intentionally. When you do something the same way for 3 years, it becomes habit. Ask a few of those I text lols.

That .1% is just to confuse Goble, as he gets stumped the most and most confused :)

But do learn, I still learn everyday..Like today, an NCO gets a deep cut from a kitchen knife and wants to waste the $200 dermabond, not the cheap but effective steristrip, which does the exact same thing..

But we're concerned with our budget, our force is cutting down, and retention is at an all time high.

I've said too much already I feel.

The two guys I saw get reprimanded were just given a talk to.

They put out their cigarettes, they talked back and forth a bit, and the cops moved on.

A lot of people come from out of state, and don't know there's rules about smoking in place. I don't know if I would want people kicked out for not realizing the rule exists. I understand there's announcements but sometimes over the music and noise, some people can't hear them or block them out.

^^It does, it's glorified sterile Super Glue..

However a cut from Saturday thats already in stages of healing could have just been hit today with Povidone, apply a Steri Strip, cover with a bandaid, done. The cut was from a good knife so the would already had good approximation, and honestly was only superficial tissue. Not worth $200..but ah well

On each of my visits last week, when the conductors on the Kings Island and Miami Valley Railroad announced at dispatch that there was no smoking on the train, they specifically said "and that does include electronic cigarettes". I had not heard that before last week.

I personally don't mind them. The problem that I have with them is that sometimes it's hard to tell if it is an e-cigarette or a regular cigarette. I'm sure there are impressionable guests that see someone smoking an e-cigarette and assume all smoking is allowed in line.

While in line for Griffon someone smoked an e-cig.

I own them, I enjoy them, but I must agree. I have black e-cigs, cuz I'm THAT continental, but my father has one that looks like a regular cig.

It's best to exclude all cigarettes in line, then by mistake encourage smoking in line.

Even though the train is open air, it may not be so for the people in the middle of the seat. Some days, it's like Bangladesh on that train, and twice as wet with bathing suit clad people.
