malem
Is it actually legal for them to prevent people from leaving? In an emergency situation, it's certainly legal for police to control movement to ensure everyone's safety. Hopefully they complete their search quickly and find whoever made this threat. TheBEASTunchained
Busch Gardens on Facebook: "Shortly after 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, Busch Gardens’ officials began evacuating the park’s England village after an employee received information regarding a bomb threat. James City County authorities were notified. Guests and employees were escorted out of the England village and the park was closed for approximately 10 minutes. Nothing was found, and the park reopened. Out of an abundance of caution, the England village remains closed at this time. Guests entering or leaving the park are being escorted to an alternate park entrance."

Magenta Lizard
Sounds like everyone is all right. Glad to hear that. Surprised the shut down was so brief, but glad to hear that too.
bkroz
Yeah, 10 minutes? Smart to keep traffic away from the area though. Wow. You never think you'll see this kind of this happen...
Magenta Lizard
Back at the end of the school year when it seemed the Miami Valley was reporting a bomb threat at a local school nearly every other day, my husband (worrying about me going to KI alone) asked if you ever hear about threats like that at amusement parks. I told him that most (if not all) the school threats were from copycat kids trying to get out of going to school because the threats shut down the school, and no one wants to not get to go to Kings Island (or another amusement park). Guess I was wrong :-/ I don't really get the idea of bomb threats anyway. If someone was nuts enough to plant a real bomb what possible purpose would a warning serve to their lunatic cause? I mean, I understand why every one has to be taken seriously and a search needs to be made, but I wonder how often, if ever, actual bombings and/or planted explosive devices come with a warning beforehand. LongLiveTheSmurfRide
Seems like it happens whenever someone has just watched Speed or Die Hard 3.

Creed Bratton
Glad everything turned out alright! I am thinking that security in the next few weeks will be a bit tighter at most amusement parks.

RailRider
I had some friends in the park that day. They knew nothing of this incident until they got home, which is interesting.
