Knott's Soak City offers the most 'California' pass perk ever

Recommended Posts

I know this news is a little dated, but I thought you guys might get a kick out of it.

Complimentary Yoga Classes at Soak City for Season Passholders

Beginning June 27 through August 9, every Friday and Saturday from 9:00am – 9:45am, Soak City, Gold, and Platinum Passholders can take advantage of complimentary yoga classes taught inside the waterpark! The class will take place on the grass area next to Gremmie Lagoon. A yoga or towel is recommended but not required. The waterpark will be open from 8:30am – 10:00am exclusively for Season Passholders on those mornings. It’s a brand new Passholder perk!

You have to give them an A+ for outside-the-box thinking. I wonder what kind of turnout they have for this stuff.

With that being said, any time I see almost anything it's not uncommon for me to think, "it would be cool if Kings Island did that!" I have to admit, however, I've never been practicing Yoga and thought to myself, "I should be doing this in an amusement park right now."

Now, with all due respect to Knott's, it seems like Kings Island has been the one to be the most innovative with special events. Do you think something like this could work at Kings Island? There's no shortage of Yoga fans and there's no shortage of Kings Island fans... why not put 'em together, right?

With all of the things over the years that I've attended with the thought "I'm the only one who could possibly be interested in this" and found myself drowned in a sea of humanity, I don't think it would be possible for KI to do anything (especially anything for free) and not get a decent attendance.

They're in a fairly unique position of being easily accessible to two metropolitan areas and all of their suburbs.

And I'd personally consider a little yoga in my mornings at KI.

I'm in town for the final one...might consider it :P Dang, I'm there during a lot of cool stuff this time around (not all of which are necessarily at Knott's or Disney), hoping for a fun trip. :D

^Indeed. Even though it's been a few years, I still see Snoopy as looking out of place around KI...I see him more as a Knott's thing and he does have a much more prominent presence there...literally plastered all over the park in some form whereas you see very little reference to him outside Planet Snoopy at KI. I envy Six Flags. :P

Well, I kind of laughed when Indy hosted a lunchtime yoga event last summer on the circle downtown..then when I passed it and saw the hordes of people spread out all over the circle and the spoke streets I realized that this event was way bigger than I realized. I suppose if KI were to do it, the large area in front of the ET would do nicely, with people spread out along the paths. I don't see KI doing this for free for passholders, but maybe a small upcharge of say $5 with a voucher for a free bottled water would entice people to come.
