StXBomber
I just got home and I have a real short TR. 1. The Beast documentary is now playing in the queue, and it has the original Beast TV commercial! 2. New lighting effects in the station, they turn on when the growling happens. 3. Both lifts have sound effects, 1st lift is music, 2nd lift is a sound like the ride is cracking and about to fall apart. 4. I met Tyson today. 5. TONS of people were at the ACE walkback. If anyone was there, I was the greeter when you all came in. 6. I added 2 more rides on Beast, another to Zephyr, and added FoF and Vortex to my list of rides I have ridden this year. Part two will be later tonight, I am going back to the park (came home to get some more money and change clothes), and will have a report of how the new lighting effects on Beast look at night. stephenmayes
As for my day: Got to the park about 2:30 b.c I had to run to wardrobe and then get a quick bite at Oscars b4 my shift. While eating I heard the news that some last minute maitnence was happening on SOB and they had decided not to open it for the day.....This was kind of a bummer but talking to people is what I love to do so I just guest related for a about 30 minutes then went to Top Gun for about 15 minutes before once again being shipped up to admissions for the rest of my shift. Taking Season Pass pictures is the easiest thing I have ever done in my life...but i wouldnt reccommend it...Rides is much more fun Well that was my day! Tmmrw I am riding rides b4 my shift then closing again...So lets just do it all over again!! Tiny

StXBomber
Whoops, wrong name, it was Tyson I met, sorry, wrong T-something name. I changed the original message Here is part 2: Rode TRTR, same old TRTR. I don't see why you people complain about it so much, its a great ride as it is. I then rode train to try and get a peek at BB, but the gate was closed so I didn't see much into it other than the tall stuff you can see from outside the park. I did get to enjoy the *feedback* the lovely sp*feedback* speil by derbeast today. So what if he had to stop every now and then for feedback. He did a plug for Beast, so I was happy. After that, I went to Eagles and snapped better than some ACErs that went on before me. Take that ACErs! After that, last ride of the night on Beast. My total rides on Beast is already up to 5! w00t! Also, 2 more things to note: 1. I didn't get stuck on a ride today!!! 2. Beast crew is awesome! I had a great time today, and can't wait to do it all over again tomorrow. Who knows what kind of outside forces could make the train stop. Did it valley today? I've heard it did, but who knows...

Stitch
I am not going to get into a pointless Flame War. I don't know if Son of Beast Valleyed today or not and the only people who know are the ones that were there. Simple as that.
SOB/Gun Steve-O
I apologize if I was rude. I'm not accusing anybody of anything. I realize that rumor's can spread quite easily, and that you are simply spreading what you have heard from someone else. Son of Beast did not open at all today - this is because maintence had to do some heavy-duty work on it that for whatever reason was not completed during the week. Extra precautions need to be taken at this time of year, before the structure and trains are "broken in," so to speak. Its not much different from what many parks experience when they put in a new large ride (like Top Thrill Dragster at CP, or SOB here at PKI to name a couple), its just on a smaller scale. I suppose (and I emphasize that this is just speculation here) SOB could valley if most, if not all of the following conditions were in effect: 1) Most of the weight in the train were shifted towards the back 2) The track had not been greased poperly 3) Some of the wheels were stuck or fell off 4) If part of the train de-railed 5) If ailens came and put a giant laser beam directly onto the ride, multiplying the effect of gravity by at least 10 to the 5th power 6) If dynamite or some other explosive device were placed at the top of a hill and was detonated as the train approached 7) If the winds of an F4 or F5 tornado were blowing against it (more than 200 mph) 8) If a giant and extremely strong barricade were placed at the top of a hill 9) If the train were cut into two multiple "pieces" if-you-will 10) If a medium-sized plane crashed directly into the front of the train at the top of the hill (which would likely also cause an explosion, blowing it further backward) To my knoweledge, none of these have ever happened - and for most of them, the park would undoubetly shut the ride down if there were any reasonable chance of them occuring. You gotta keep in mind that each of SOB's 6 cars per train weighs more than 2500 lbs - and that's with no people or dummies (and I'm talking like crash-test or water jug type dummies, not dumb people here) in any seat. If it did valley, it would be to say the least an extremely difficult task to make it run properly again (much less get it out of the valley). When the RCCA and Premier made the ride, they kept this in mind, designing the ride so that it was extremely difficult for the train to valley. Stitch
Keep In Mind During its test runs SOB did Valley in the first Helix Set or (Rose Bowl)
coasterrz
Yeah, I remember seeing pictures of that. If I remember correctly, they cut the track so that they could use a crane to remove the trains from the rosebowl. However, I find it unlikely that SoB would have valleyed today, especially with the excellent weather and lack of strong winds today.
PKI_Man
At 7:15 Face/Off Mis-caught and got stuck on the way to the loop, the thing about it is i was on there when it happend, people screamin, maintenince rushing to Face/Off. I was quiet during the unloading prossess, but that doesnt matter, i heard the **** ride rumble and the felt the car shake like it was gonna fall off

Tanner
Yes it did I was there and seen it. I was walking back from TG when it happened it didn't make it up the hill after the loop and rolled back. You surely must have XRAY vision.
Captain Picard
You could see it rolling back up the loop and back down from there no need for XRAY vision.
crosscountry4891
You could see it rolling back up the loop and back down from there no need for XRAY vision. Yes, you would. The massive lift hill structure would be in the way. There;s no way you could have seen it valley, if it did at all.

Captain Picard
As I said I could see it going back up the loop backwards then back down and no you could not see it sitting in the valley. I seen it while it was moving not sitting there. You can see the loop from the walkway of TG. Here is a xray of the lift hill and you see the loop. http://www.pkiunlimited.com/images/photoga...de/100_1645.jpg

0-120
Sure you can see the top of the loop, but it would still be pretty hard to see the part we're talking about.
