kingsislandfan1972
This is great news, I've seen videos of the original King Kong ride, and that looked awesome. I think the original ride was made in the 90's, but with technology better now, I'm sure the new ride is going to be just as great.
purdude86
This sounds like it should be good. I hope there are some good scenery and animatronics though. As great as some of their newer rides have been they are starting to rely a bit too heavily on 3d screens. Hope this one is better than the original though. I honestly thought it wasn't too good. Went down there when Islands of Adventure first opened and my whole family thought that park was great but the original park was kind of lackluster. Love it now with all of the new additions though. Kongfrontation was probably our least favorite attraction there at the time. Was glad to see Mummy take it's spot.
jcgoble3
Huh. Universal Orlando just sent out an email to their marketing list a few hours ago. Top feature in the email is trivia about Diagon Alley in the Harry Potter land. Below that is an ad for the perks of staying in an on-site hotel. Only below that, at the bottom, is the King Kong announcement, with a five-word headline, a single sentence with the name of the attraction and "Summer 2016", and a link to a page with more details and to a YouTube video. And the only mention of King Kong in the subject line is a reference to a "special announcement". You'd think the announcement of a major new ride would get top billing in that day's email. Apparently not.
malem
^ They're trying to sell a product. Most families don't book trips 13+ months out, so it's not yet relevant. They also don't want this year's potential customers to wait a year (or to go elsewhere and save Universal Orlando for another trip after the ride opens.)
jcgoble3
Fair points. I guess my brain is a little scrambled from the computer problems tonight.
malem
As long as it's not your hard drive that's scrambled.
