Dive-in Movies 2015

Featured Replies

Soak City Dive-In Movies return this summer every Friday night beginning June 26 through July 31.

Four of the six movies that will be featured are set:

The Lego Movie (June 26)

The Amazing Spider-Man 1 (July 10)

Big Hero 6 (July 17)

Up! (July 31)

They're also looking for votes for the final two selections.

Cast your vote by choosing two of the movies listed below:

- Cloudy With A Chance of Meat Balls

- Ghostbusters

- The Sandlot

- Elf

- Pirates of Caribbean

- Grease

- Tangled

- Frozen

Fan voting ends June 7.

Sandlot and Sandlot should be the last two selections.

Judging by the comments I looked at so far I would say Pirates of the Caribbean is a lock.

Amazing Spiderman is a wasted slot but all the others sound FUN

So, do they set up a big projection screen?

Boy, that sure sounds great. We used to have a pretty good drive in

here untill just a few years ago.

I still prefer a drive-in to a theatre anyday. Just love em.

So, do they set up a big projection screen?

From KI's Facebook page as linked above (so, I'd say, yep):

^Oh wow. That's just cool.

Added to the game plan for the summer.

Well, its kind of obvious which movie to go with.  Who else would you call?

Yea Jaws is the perfect movie for watching in a pool.

I voted for PotC and Ghostbusters

We thought about going to a few of these last summer but I couldn't shake the feeling it was going to be rediculously crowded and that we wouldn't be able to get in the pool during the movie due to the limited space.  Did anyone here actually go to one that can tell me if it was fun and worth the effort?

The movies are such a great experience in the park, I'm so grateful for the amazing experience that has been created by the Kings Island staff. The selection this year seems really solid. I hope it lives up to my expectations!

Is tonight's movie still on? And.... does one have to get in the wave pool in order to watch the movie?...also what time is it recommended that one arrive to get in to the event?

Sorry this answer couldn't get to you before the movie started last night, but no, you don't have to get in the pool to watch, as they have several screens angled for swimmers as well as non-swimmers. I would recommend getting there when the waterpark closes (at 8, which is an hour and a half before the movie starts). It wasn't so necessary to get there that early last night due to there not being a lot of guests, but there normally is a pretty good amount, so seats can fill up quickly.

Did you end up going last night?

No I stayed away from the park Friday. But thanks for the info.....I think this Friday will be packed for sure for the Dive-in.....Frozen....yikes!

Frozen is actually the 24th, this Friday is the Amzaing Spider-man

Thanks for the correction! I'd hate to show up for Frozen instead...LOL
