Despite the cruddy weather, yesterday i headed to PKI. When i got there headed to Beast, suprisingly smooth ride. As the Day progressed, every ride was a five minute wait. Then went tomb raider not that bad of a wait, met GrandPooba there.

Then headed to Coney mall, rode The Racer Forward and backward, stood in coney for a while. Went got something to eat @ laRosas in rivertown, then headed to AZ didntt do much but rode face/off and Delirium. walked around for a while. Then rode Vortex, went back to TR rode it, Right before the fire works headed up to the effiel, i had a spectacular view of the fireworks, to me very romantic, (if i had my Girlfriend with me!). So the night ended @ PKI

Sorry i had to make it short

good TR. Don't they limit how many people can go up on the the tower while fire works are going on. biggrin.gif

One hundred and fifty people per a platform is max capacity at anytime...so if you want to see fireworks from the top of tower, get there early!!

Chances are, if you rode Delirium that afternoon, you probably saw me. I know Dxrunner found me. I also spotted sparky and his lovely girlfriend. It was a tad rainy when I started my closing shift, but it was mostly misty at night. Drop Zone looked pretty cool with the mist from greeter position at Delirium.

Ack i worked a swing on saturday...it wasnt raining when i left my house but when i got to work it was raining quite nicely and all i was wearing was the short sleeved shirt and shorts. Wow i was cold but yet once i started working i was even standing out at greeter in the pouring rain and i couldnt help but smile because of all the people that were willing to be out in the rain and enjoy the park and some even stopped and talked to me, i thought it was pretty cool. The best part though was that down at gun when the sun came out i got nicks attention and told him the sun came out and he went over the station intercom and was like "If i may have your attention please, everyone looking to your left... THE SUN IS NOW OUT" and everyone cheered...it was pretty cool

I didn`t go to the park on Saturday because of the rain. However, I went yesterday morning, before it got slightly crowded. Anway, while I was riding Top Gun at about 11:30, one of the workers (on the entrance side of the station) told me "nice shirt" in regards to my SFWoA X-Flight shirt. Was that anyone on here?

I went up Saturday night and Sunday morning. The park seemed really crowded both days during the time that I was there. On the plus side, I finally got to see The Beast video.

Deliriumdreamer, were you working at Delirium at about 9:00 on Saturday, I think I saw you.

Yeah, I was a little surprised how crowded the park was on Sunday. the line for Son of Beast around 11:30 was already out of the station and started where the line left the Top Gun plaza! However, after I saw that long line for Son of Beast, I headed to The Beast and walked on! When I left at about 12:30 there were still a lot of people coming into the park.

I got to the park around 9:30 on Saturday. I went to AZ, and got a ride on DZ. I was wearing just shorts, a T shirt, and sandals. I grabbed my windbreaker out of the car before heading in. After my DZ ride, I was soaked. I went back to the car to dry off a little, and went back in at 10. Still raining, so I took two spins on FoF...for both rides, the lights were on. I had a "lit" ride last season, but I rode front seat this time....It was amazing that there is so much coaster stuffed in that building! I saw the KC trains, and some other stuff just being stored beow the ride.

After FoF, I walked back toward Eagles. There was 1 or 2 people on the ride, with no one waiting. For the first time ever, I walked past this ride! I was just too cold. I continued to walk toward TR:TR, but the line was already well past the cave, and I just didn't want to wait outside.

Being cold and miserable, I just went home for a few hours. When I returned, there weren't many cars in the lot....but there were BUSSES. More than I'd ever seen there before. Those in cars must have left because of the rain....but those in busses stuck it

out.

I went back in, and headed straight for the Eagles. I got my 175th Scooter ride this season. (I count 'em. I'm a dork, sue me! smile.gif ) The Beast had a pretty long wait, so we went to Racer, and the I met a friend who was there with her 1 year old. She was able to ride Beastie, Huck's Hot Rods, (do they still call 'em that?) and Yogi's Sky Tours. It was my first time on that ride. The views were actually kinda neat. I got my first carousel ride this season, and I'm always forced to appreciate how well this ride is maintained. There is so much history on this ride.

After that, it was back to the Eagles, where I spent the last 45 minutes of the night....one cycle, I was the only rider. On my last ride, I snapped while watching the fireworks; and headed home.

Sorry for piggy-backing your tr, PKI_man..

On Sunday, I got the first ride of the day on The Beast, courtesy of the ACE walkback. It was running rather slow. By the time I got off and walked back into line and rode again it was going faster. When I rode it again around 1, it was going pretty fast, with the first car or two reaching the first booth on the second lift. Also, I`m assuming just for the spring, but if you look at The Beast`s secon hill, you will see that the park has temporarily removed two of the trim brakes. They are sitting on the right catwalk and you can see the spot where they were removed from.

Normally, they have the colored lights shining in the building. These llights usually dimly light the entire ride drum. However, my last ride on FoF, about half of these lights were off. There are maintenance flourescent lights inside the drum. I have had one ride when there were lights on in the launch tunnel, which illuminated some of the drum, but not all of it.

no matter what you do there will always be some kind of light in the drum. There is no way of stopping it. Even if there was a quater size hole that would produse a pretty goood amount of light on a sunny day. If all the lights are off then you will get a realy dark ride but not a completly dark ride. At night is a completly different story. Hey coasterdime you still haven't answered my question.

Hey coasterdime you still haven't answered my question.

Sorry. It's not a coaster I've ridden a ton of times, usually due to the wait times. I do try to catch it a few times in the mornings....when I'm there early. If I had to guess, I'd say just a few hundred times. (2-300 over 8 years) Most of those rides would be after the 2001 restraint change, though)

The ride isn't lit too often.  Since 1996, I've only had 3 rides, on two different days.  If you really want a ride without the darkness, try to get there at opening.

are you some kind of gosh darn expert?

Wow, try toning down the hostility a little! Yeah, I'd say I have a pretty good guest's perspective! That is unavoidable when you visit often. EVERY ride I've had with the drum lights on has been between 10-11:00 am, so I'll stick with my first piece of advice:

If you want to get a chance to try FoF with the lights on, try early in the monring.

So on 2 days, you're deciding that if you go their early, then it will be lit. Ok...

Ummmm, no, All I said was that each time I saw it lit was in the morning.

I will add this, usually the lines are non existent for that ride first thing in the AM....there's a reason to get there early.
