The Interpreter Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 We could have a carousel of people horsing around bumping it (the thread, NOT the carousel) from time to time. A Merry-Go-Round of joy! 3 Quote
CoastersRZ Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Definitely a good read with lots of informative facts in there! I rode the Carousel yesterday and the band organ was playing, although it seemed as if the drums and symbols were turned off. Still great hearing the organ play, but it was missing the full effect with the percussion not there. 4 Quote
Gabe Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 After reading, I'm a bit confused, in that it took him 9 years to get the attention of someone at the park who had authority to act, then, once he was able to see the organ, all he had to do to fix it was blow the little bits of paper off? If so, that should be more than a bit embarrassing for the park. 4 Quote
shark6495 Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Well in all fairness, 9 years ago he was, 8-10 years old? Adults have a tendency to ignore youngins even if what they speak is the truth. Also, if I was a KI employee who didn't know anything about the organ and saw that it broke/stopped working I would probably request a specialist to come in and look at it. Maybe they deemed it too expensive? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 4 Quote
Magenta Lizard Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 I know he ultimately did more to it (tuning, etc) to bring the parts into working condition and make it sound wonderful, but it did sound in the article like the paper bits were what had initially made it "stop working" entirely so that the park removed it. 5 Quote
