Definitely a good read with lots of informative facts in there!

I rode the Carousel yesterday and the band organ was playing, although it seemed as if the drums and symbols were turned off.  Still great hearing the organ play, but it was missing the full effect with the percussion not there.

After reading, I'm a bit confused, in that it took him 9 years to get the attention of someone at the park who had authority to act, then, once he was able to see the organ, all he had to do to fix it was blow the little bits of paper off? If so, that should be more than a bit embarrassing for the park.

Well in all fairness, 9 years ago he was, 8-10 years old? Adults have a tendency to ignore youngins even if what they speak is the truth.

Also, if I was a KI employee who didn't know anything about the organ and saw that it broke/stopped working I would probably request a specialist to come in and look at it. Maybe they deemed it too expensive?

I know he ultimately did more to it (tuning, etc) to bring the parts into working condition and make it sound wonderful, but it did sound in the article like the paper bits were what had initially made it "stop working" entirely so that the park removed it.
