May 16, 201610 yr And you would almost expect VR getting bigger as time goes on. I think it will probably get pretty big over the next few years. As long as people are entertained, they'll pay good money for just about anything.
May 16, 201610 yr I do. Samsung paid SIX heap big money. I guess I should say, I don't get the fad on the consumer (park guest) side...... Why would you wait 4 hours (looking at you Six Flags Over Georgia) to ride a coaster with a screen in front of your face? Why would you want to ride the front seat of the train while wearing the VR headset as well? I hope eventually I'm not the only one down the road that appreciates the actual surroundings of a coaster and not a screen (that says something too since I'm connected to my phone a lot).
May 17, 201610 yr ^ Nope, you're not the only one. Would I try VR? Yes, depending on what it is. On a coaster? Not a chance. I think it's plum stupid.
May 17, 201610 yr i just hope VR isn't added to that many more coasters even though it seems like it will be. I would hate to see one of my favorite coasters at a local park no longer possible to ride without waiting in a line that could be 2 or more hours when on a slow day it could be 15 minutes or less.
May 17, 201610 yr Question: If a coaster offers the option of a VR experience, but it is not mandatory, can you ride once with VR and once without, and then claim two credits? Or are they the same credit? jcgoble3, fully aware that he may be starting a flame war
June 15, 201610 yr VR was tested on Iron Dragon (https://www.instagram.com/p/BGkcB4svgGS/) and is coming soon to Raging Bull at SFGAM https://www.sixflags.com/greatamerica/attractions/vr/overview?utm_source=park-newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=SFGAm&utm_content=2016-06-15
June 15, 201610 yr So this fad hasn't died yet? I'll always pick the real reality vs the virtual reality.
June 15, 201610 yr The Gear VR headsets may not be used by children 12 and under based on manufacturer's guidelines. from Six Flags web page
June 16, 201610 yr That doesn't make much sense. Wonder why that is. I would think they'd kinda want it geared towards kids.
