festhaus
Rollercoaster "crashed off it's rails". Nothing else more to the story, yet. King Ding Dong
Those images don't look good. I sure hope there are no serious injuries. 2004 Pinfari. Looks to be a mobile inverted. http://rcdb.com/2433.htm
WindingSon
Horrible. Seeing the image of a wheel laying on the ground was gut wrenching.
King Ding Dong
7 "casualties", not necessarily dead.
WindingSon
Misinterpreted "casualties". Whoops. Sorry. Also seeing the train landed on a children's car ride. Which makes this even worse.
Oldiesmann
The Daily Record is now saying police have told them 9 kids and 2 adults have been injured, but no word on how bad those injuries are.
Kenban
It is hard seeing pictures like this. You know it can happen but frankly it never should. The Daily Mail has some good pictures of the train laying on the ground. So far it appears all of the cars landed either upside down or on their side. Which for an invert is about the best you can hope for. On the bad side it looks like the train went through a chain link fence, and hit one of the rides supports. It also landed on top of a car ride for little children. No word if there was anyone on that attraction. Reports state 11 injured, but this ride only seats 10 in a single train, 5 cars of 2 each. So at least one injured must not have been riding the attraction.
Tanna
Grateful of no casulties( for now, at least), but rueful of the work and rehabilitation upcoming for these poor people. Hopefully the little boy with the damaged hand will get a surgeon as great as mine- there are worse things in the world than having a Billy Quizboy drawing hand. Thirty feet? In nothing but an verted seat? Terrible. I have such a hard time construing what happened in ride accidents, mechanically, due to the individuallty of the rides, themselves. I know the wheels came off, but that doesn't tell me what exactly happened.
Creed Bratton
Sure hope everyone who was injured comes out of this okay. Picture Source With this above picture (even though it's out of focus, so looking really close is kind of hard to do) it looks like the wheel bearing is a bit rusty. I won't speculate as to what caused the tragic event but I just thought that was interesting.
