But for amusement park BBQ, Carowinds has it down.

I might be making multiple visits to Cedar Point Shores & KI Soak City in 2017 just for food.

I'm actually really disappointed. I was really hopeful that Phantom Theater would be back. I'll probably go, and I'm sure a lot of people are excited. At least I still have Mystic Timbers to look forward to!

I have a feeling that a dark ride isn't that far away maybe a year or two.

Maybe CF is saving money to put dark rides in most of their parks. Unless they are planning something even bigger...

They announced Winterfest so soon in order to sell more season passes.  Guess what just went on sale?  Perfect time to pitch an added benefit to the passes that are bought and to drive increase sales of said passes.

I'm a little hazy about whether Winterfest is starting this winter or next. At the announcement it seemed he was talking about this one, but no dates have been announced yet so I'm not sure.

Seems odd they'd announce it do far in advance if it's next year, but also seems like they wouldn't have said it's returning in 2017 and have it after the holidays (in this coming January) since part of the announcement is a Christmas tree display (why turn the Eiffel Tower into a giant Christmas tree *after* Christmas?).

By announcing early it solves the problem of trying to keep a secret.

I believe they are saying holiday season 2017.  Starting around Thanksgiving.

 

Also, they are announcing it this early to try and boost season pass sales for next year.

I agree. This is comming next year. I was poking around some of the other parks sites and it was more explicit on them. Six week starting November 2x, 2017.

Ok so I am excited for Winterfest, I'm sure they have looked at the past fails and learned from it and I expect something amazing next year. That being said it's still upsetting to know that we will have to empty boxes at the park next year. Maybe 2018.
