New Roller Coaster in Columbus...

Featured Replies

Now if only we can know the type of coaster going in. My guess its a small indoor coaster.

Those that have been around here a long time have learned about a certain park's various responses to things like this.  Will be interesting to see if there will be any with this announcement.

On my initial research I did read 'vertical coaster' and a giant wheel and other amusement rides.  I'll try and find it.  That would be perfect to have a Zac Spin or other such coaster that Ohio doesn't have at the major parks.

Edited:

I guess it was on their own linked website:

https://www.planetoasis.fun/

Scroll down and it says vertical.

Terrible website however.

I for one am excited lol A coaster in my neck of the woods! That isn't the "Sea Dragon" and Zoombezi Bay.

I hope it is not a Zac Spin, those things are terrible.  There is a reason Six Flags went with the S&S Free Spin for the rest of their 4D coasters.

But I took a look at the layout, there is a skywheel shown but no coaster.  Multiple websites are calling it a UniCoaster which is that powered coaster concept from Chance rides.  But the height listed confuses me if it is based on that.  Oddly no one lists the Skywheel.

That actually looks like a really fun flat ride to me, but yeah, not much of a coaster.

If I spin like that I will vomit all over lol

** UPDATE** Per 10tv in Columbus

UltraStar Multi-tainment Center featuring the latest technologies in bowling, VIP bowling, laser tag, specialty movie theatre, video games, a sports restaurant and bar, fine dining and a unique new virtual golf concept. It will also include a state-of-the-art Uni-coaster, housed in a glass cylinder extending 150-200 feet in the air

C'mon man.

::Kicks dirt::

Resigned to the Sea Dragon for life brahs.

And yeah...I puked in my mouth just watching that thing.

And 150 - 200 feet?  That ride looks like rolling down a hill in a large tire..  Why would it matter if you were high in the air?  So confused.

^^ That...I could get behind.  Being 150 - 200 ft in the air?  That would be crazy for C-bus.

Still looks pukey.

Thank goodness it is over there off 71, I was scared it was going to be on 23.

Meh, I think Cedar Fair is still going to get the lions share of our entertainment budget.

Without a doubt for us type.  I just want a gosh darn coaster in C-bus for a change.  A 150 foot pukey device that allows me to control the puke level.  Sign us up man.  The Point and KI doesn't deserve them all.  We are the capitol by God.

Not by God proper...just as an exclamation.

I read the article and I didn't see anything about a coaster, but I did see something about a Unicoaster.

However, the VR and virtual golf attraction peaks my interest. :)

EDIT: Ok, so I saw the Unicoaster video and I'm not sure if it counts as a coaster or not... I mean, it doesn't have a lift (its powered, perhaps), but at the same time, X2 does flips and it's a coaster. Maybe it can just be a tracked flat ride, like the Antique Cars...

Maybe it will be a Steel Hawg model.

I am from Indiana and that and the coasters at holiday world is the best we have lol. That's why I consider Kings Island my hone park lol

Sounds great.

Yes, they're installing a UniCoaster, but look at the overall investment of $2 Billion for the whole complex. The site is as big as KI and who is to say they don't add more rides?  This appears to be a direct shot at CF. With CF's new sports complex and their plans on making CP a destination vacation spot, as well as KI being in the southern part of the state, this company is trying to split the markets and poach business from both. This would be a situation to watch very closely to see how CF responds.
