April 2, 200422 yr Yeah Mantis is a Kick A$s coaster i dont know about you guys but iam getting sick of Vortex being the only Steel coaster at PKI ...i want a Nice LONG steel coaster maybe a Flyer? Um...Vortex isn't the only steel coaster. Topgun is made of steel, as well the Runaway Reptar, and Face-Off.
April 2, 200422 yr Yeah, we do need something new like a sequil to Vortex (without tearing down the original), B&M, Vekoma , S&S, Intamin, PKI should @ least pick one to add to the line-up.
April 2, 200422 yr definitely don't want a Vekoma for a signature steel, besides, isn't Face-Off a Vekoma... I like the other choices though, S&S, Intamin, or B&M.
April 2, 200422 yr Intamin or B&M ONLY. I must say, S&S and Vekoma really are not known for there "big", full circuit coasters. Vekoma is more shuttle and kiddie coasters (ie. Runaway Reptar and Faceoff) and S&S is more launching coasters (ie. Hypersonic).
April 2, 200422 yr Yeah, Intamin & B&M both make great steel coasters. They should go with B&M if they want a huge looper, & then Intamin for a more classic, yet still 300+ ride. Millenium Force, Wicked Twister, and Top Thrill Dragster have all been amazing, probably almost better than PKI's coasters. Those things have all been tall and fast, can you say 120mph ?
April 2, 200422 yr well it depends on what PKI is looking for. If they want inversions, then obviously they'll go to B&M, but if not they could still purchase a B&M Speed coaster or of course something spectacular from Intamin.
April 3, 200422 yr I don't think they'll put anything in to great in 05. I think in 06 they'll make a badass rollercoaster.
April 19, 200422 yr I like B&M looping coasters the best, those things are so awesome. They usually have the best layouts. Intamin doesn't make looping coasters do they? If they do, I can't think of any!
April 19, 200422 yr FoF is made of steel also. So is taxi jam and scoobys coaster. dont forget reptar...it is steel too. and top gun
April 23, 200422 yr We are getting a 600 ft Kiddie coaster with speeds of 165 mph! I swear! and the are going to locate it at the Beach!
April 28, 200422 yr i heard this a while ago from a person i know who worked in the park at the time. this was before i worked in the park, but apparently he was talking to a full timer who was in his food stand (might have been jeff siebert, but im not sure) and he told him that 'the next coaster is coming in 2005, its going to be big.' and ' if you like millenium force you will like the new coaster' i dont know how much you guys will trust it just like anyone who says 'i know a guy who knows a guy..." but i just thought that i would share.
April 28, 200422 yr I know I would like to see a Millenium Force at Pki, but I don't see another hyper coaster coming to PKI!
April 28, 200422 yr lets just get everything on the list accept for no coaster and call it a day. Just kidding.
April 28, 200422 yr ( PKIpunk said) I know I would like to see a Millenium Force at Pki, but I don't see another hyper coaster coming to PKI! Millennium force is not a hyper coaster it is a giga coaster. Magnum XL 200 is a hyper coaster. Roller coaster o to 199 feet Hyper coaster 200 to 299 Giga coaster 300 to 399 Strata coaster 400 to ~ The only park to have all three is CP but, PKI is the only one to have a Hyper woodie.
April 28, 200422 yr I have to disagree with you pki punk. The Addams Family Diving coaster would definitely be short. It says on RCDB that it is a 2 minute, 40 second ride, but I find that hard to believe, unless 1 1/2 minutes is spent traveling up the hill. Other than that, there is nothing more to Oblivion and this would be a waste for PKI. They have enough short coasters. Time for a long, steel coaster, at least 200 ft. drop. Was wondering, though. Would it be possible to build a 400 ft. vertical drop coaster? That would be cool to be held on the holding brake that high in the air.
April 28, 200422 yr Anything is possible when you put your mind to it. If you ask any real roller coaster designer he wil tell you the only limitation is Money
May 11, 200422 yr Nah, I have to disagree. Money is not the only limitation. How about G forces that people can withstand? Space can be an issue. Ok, I have to retract my last post because I have found out that there is another company that makes a vertical drop coaster. The last was referring to a B&M. This is providing PKI goes with that company. Something about a Euro Fighter. I'll post a link if someone asks.
May 11, 200422 yr Roller coaster o to 199 feet Hyper coaster 200 to 299 Giga coaster 300 to 399 Strata coaster 400 to ~ The only park to have all three is CP but, PKI is the only one to have a Hyper woodie. Thanks beastdude, I had NO idea. I just said what I said to make a point. I don't see PKI adding another record breaker, especially a steel record breaker.
May 11, 200422 yr Neither do I. I'd just like the park to install a rerideable, reliable, people eater. A flyer would be nice since I don't think there are any in the Midwest (please correct me if I am wrong, though). As the park continues to "upgrade" to the Hollywood park of the Midwest, they may find that tried-and-true coasters may be the best route to take, with new bells and whistles, instead of prototype coasters.
May 11, 200422 yr I think that a tried and tru steel coaster would go over extremly well at the park. Maybe throw in a new looping element or something, but use exisiting proven technology. I think the park would benefit from having a new, large capacity steel roller coaster. I`m sure in time, the park will install that ride. After SoB, they are probably a little gunshy of adding a ride that will cost more than $10 million.
May 11, 200422 yr The park really needs to stay away from prototypes. I mean look to the past with SOB and TR:TR. Need I say more?
May 11, 200422 yr The park really needs to stay away from prototypes. I mean look to the past with SOB and TR:TR. Need I say more? ??? I assume you just forgot about Beast, Racer, Vortex, FOF, Delirium and Reptar right?

May 11, 200422 yr Nah, I have to disagree. Money is not the only limitation. How about G forces that people can withstand? Actually, the newer coasters employ simple tricks to keep G forces in a safe range. Bigger drops and higher speeds just need larger curves. I'm not an engineer, so I couldn't explain it well...but a little online digging could probably explain it. Larger radii keep G forces in check. That was the thing that always ticked me off about Markey. (from the other topics) He would equate large rides with larger g's....and he has the capability to research easily.
