I think its amazing that this ride gets attention since it is a gateway to the past and a ride that has served generations. I wish the Wurlitzer organ was operating more often. I love the sound of it and it makes me feel alright inside tbh.

They really should have had Gary Wachs come in to talk about it instead of Chad Showalter.

Question is were they in maintenance sheds or on the ride? There’s images of the carousel immediately after the flood and there’s no apparent damage from any of the horses disengaging from the ride’s machinery.

I remember reading they used to put the horses on the second level of Moonlight Gardens to reduce the chance of them floating away in a flood. Don't know if they were doing it before the '37 flood or if they started doing it after.

And up until Coney decided to remove their rides at the end of this season, they still stored many of the ride components in the off season on the second floor of Moonlite Gardens (including the Carousel horses).
