Benjamin22 Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 B&M marketed Fury & Orion as giga coasters at their IAAPA booths. 2 Quote

MIA is more of a niche park. The only way that park could get significant investments is if the tourism industry in the Muskegon area grew. Nevertheless I think them not getting a new thrill coaster hasn't exactly helped boost attendance. Quote
WickedDragster Posted September 10, 2020 Posted September 10, 2020 I thought giga means a height or drop of 300+ feet? So Orion would make cut for giga. I personally would like a height over 300+ just seems more impressive. Orion at KI just dominates the skyline though! Quote
AnyPancakes Posted September 12, 2020 Posted September 12, 2020 I thought gigas were measured from sea level? 1 Quote
Honorarius Posted September 12, 2020 Posted September 12, 2020 I personally go by the drop... If you take MF and bury the whole thing underground, it's still a giga to me... 1 Quote
Rifleman Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 My latest YouTube video compares the stats of the 4 American giga’s, Orion included. It’s stats are comparable to the other gigas in every way. Orion is definitely a giga in my opinion. 3 Quote
jensenracing77 Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 These discussions are always fun to watch. Just like my FMX days. You jump a bike or quad 100 foot distance on a kicker ramp and you could be 40+ feet in the air. You jump 100 feet on a tabletop and you are only 10 foot and maybe less in the air. Either way, you jumped 100 feet. Quote
RollerCoasterAirtime Posted September 15, 2020 Posted September 15, 2020 Orion is a Giga because it has a 300 foot drop. It is also a HyperCoaster because it has a height between 200-300 ft. There are a few other coasters out there that fall into 2 categories as well! Quote

beastfan11 Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 The stats are what they. Names don’t matter. If the coaster is great, then awesome. If it’s not, then it’s not. I never understood this whole back and forth argument. Who cares. 2 Quote
