Aren't their cheap passes just for one park and the pass to get into all parks was around the same cost of a gold membership?  

The membership is set up to be the FAR better deal now, and it was already close. The benefits on our Diamond Elite VIP membership are pretty staggering. Best in class among the chains, without question.

    I have not purchased a SF pass/membership in several years but when I did this is always the way the seasons passes worked.  IF you processed the season pass in person by a certain date then it would be upgraded to Gold and include parking and all parks.
