If you have lived here long enough, you know some winters are mild, then some are just brutal. Some we get snow, some we dont. Plus staffing when everyone is back in school. As we learned with Winterfest....they said never again and eventually it returned.  They said never to Winterfest at Wonderland due to unpredictable weather and colder up north and what happened...

We have a larger staffing pool and season pass base than KD and ours would be much more successful than theirs is...

thats why i said "i could be wrong" but as that might be, even during winterfest at times some rides dont run due to the cold. i could see them possibly closing after new years then reopening in march instead of april. But who knows.

I’d hardly say KD is much further south than KI, probably the longitudinal equivalent of Lexington, Kentucky, who pretty much gets about the same weather we do up here. Having gone to Virginia in the cooler months, I say it’s not too different than what we encounter- some days can be pleasant, some days can be horrible.
