Looks like they're doing an after hours event featuring two mazes and three scare zones, with food offerings, late night ride time, and two DJs.

I'm really interested to see how this goes, I would love to see more parks implement something like this if it goes well!

I think it's weird to have Halloween stuff in March.  

 

And when did Magic Mountain stop year round operation (excluding COVID closure)?

Ironically enough I'm heading out there for Knott's Boysenberry Festival, Disneyland and Magic Mountain that weekend. Very interested to see how the park actually manages the event and how staffed it actually will be. 

As for park closures, from what I've understood January-February was extremely dead, so for them to make this adjustment isn't too far fetched for me.  

Just read this on Screamscape; sounds pretty cool. I also saw the Scream and Goliath will be celebrating anniversaries this year (20th and 23rd respectively)… I love it when parks honor/acknowledge ride anniversaries!
