I would say thats a big negative. They say its going to be a level three - but I would think it would be upgraded to a level 4 - it is much more scary and extreme than Adventure Express.

That rule only exists in HB, where the rides have a height maximum, and then you need a smaller child to supervise.

There are five levels. I dont remember what they all are but here they are.

Level 1 - Something

Level 2 - Low Thrill Ride

Level 3 - Mild Thrill Ride

Level 4 - Intermediate Thrill Ride

Level 5 - Extreme Thrill Ride

They are on the fun and safety guides.

Level 4 is High Thrill Ride

What are the different levels?

2-Mild Thrill Ride-Low to medium spped ride. Smooth tranistion whith some changes in elevation and speed, not intended for young children/ unacompannied toddlers

4-High Thrill Ride- Fast pace ride, changes in cpeed, direction and elevation, some of which may be unexpected.

5-Extreme Thrill Ride- High speed ride with turbulent turns and drops. Riders will encounter rapid changes in speed elevation, and elevation which are unexpected.

My mom felt guilty b/c she wouldn't ride ANYTHING with me so she said she would ride Runaway Reptar after she looked at it and made sure it wasn't that bad. We wals over there and she thinks for a while and finally says yes...well then we find out you have to have a kid so I was (I actually kinda wanted to ride it... ). She still felt bad so she rode FoF with me....that was really funny. She was really scared.

Since when did you have to have a kid with you on Reptar. I rode without one. And IJST has a rating of 3 right now.

It's actually not that bad of a question. If it's a family ride, then a lot of parks will have height max/min requirements. Now, being familiar with the ride and how Paramount Parks operate, we know that it's very unlikely that they'll do something like that.

Here's a related question for you:

If this ride is supposed to be so family oriented, why is it based off of a movie that really isn't appropriate for younger children? It has a PG13 rating, so if you think about it, anyone who's old enough to see IJ is really old enough to ride pretty much anything in the park.

I never thought about that....I guess it's maybe a family ride but with a more mature theme for the older family members....Like it's a ride that's not too intense for moms and dads to get scared, but it's not too "weak" for teens to turn down.

IJST is going to have explosions and guns on it. Its based off a movie where they portray criminals and violence. I really seeing it getting bumbed up to a 4.

I didn't know you didn't have a kid to ride sgc...looks like i'll be jumping on that next week. People are going to look at me funny, but its cool, its one of only 2 coasters I haven't ridden in the park counting IJST...

Ah, and RingMaster brings up tough question #3: Since Paramount claims to have family parks but also has suggestive themes, do you think that the rating of the ride should not only indicate the experience, but the theme as well?

The ratings deal with the intensity of the ride and the only reason why KI started doing that was so people could rate the ride and know which ride they may or may not ride. Besides, by the looks of things, you will be able to see the themeing of the ride w/o riding the ride it self. Plus, there is nothing in there that I personally think a younger kid cant see on regualr TV today. Just my opion though.

Yeah, let's not forget that more people were killed in The Incredibles than in The Italian Job. I wouldn't say the theme is too intense. Plus, PKI technically found a way around the whole criminal story theme. You're a stunt driver on the ride, not a criminal. The story of the movie is completely moot.
