DonHelbig Posted Tuesday at 06:53 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:53 PM Disney didn’t just name a new CEO. They picked a park guy. Why Josh D’Amaro taking the job feels like the right move—for fans, guests, and the future of Disney. https://themeparksbydon.com/josh-damaro-disney-ceo-park-fans/ 2 Quote
jzarley Posted Tuesday at 06:59 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:59 PM I can say that people internally are happy about it (especially in Orlando). I was also really happy to hear about Dana Walden being promoted to President and Chief Creative Officer—I had been worried that we would lose whichever didn’t get the CEO job and either one would have been a big loss. 3 Quote
Losantiville Mining Co. Posted Tuesday at 09:52 PM Posted Tuesday at 09:52 PM I hope we can see a positive change in Disney as a whole with Josh D'Amaro at the helm of the whole company. Whatever era they've been in since Iger first left has gotten stale and has felt bad for the consumer and park goer alike. While I doubt prices will go down, maybe a return to better theming and creative freedom for Imagineers will be in order. 1 Quote
Browntggrr Posted yesterday at 02:16 PM Posted yesterday at 02:16 PM I would love to have prices go down. We took a family vacation for a week last summer, stayed at AKL with savannah view and had LL everyday. Yup, it was expensive. Yup, its was an EPIC vacation for all of us- one that we will not experience for a handful of years (or at least till PP/ Villains Land opens). Despite the cost, we would not have changed anything minus a couple transportation mistakes i.e. waiting for monorail from Contemporary to MK after 4th of July fireworks to catch bus back to AKL. Point being, it's basic supply & demand- until Disney can see a drop in park attendance trend or drop in resort occupancy, they have little motivation to change costs much. My daughters have planned a trip to Universal end of March. The cost of staying at Helios/ park tix etc. is on par with Disney cost. 3 Quote
