Kat_RPW_employee
I rode it yesterday (6/18/05) for the third and perhaps last time this year. I waited in line for nearly 3 hours yesterday, 3 technical delays, and then we got stuck on the ride (it was at the end, i wouldn't have wanted to be the people in the train behind us they got stuck on the ride up at the top where the effects are) I was so ****ed that I had waited that long. but the ride itsself was good. we got shotgun (very front seat) which is THE best seat on that ride the themeing was off yesterday... the cop cars were not working, the water spray at the top didn't work, the chopper didn't work... so yeah. they need to get their act together and fix this stuff if they want to keep their status as the new popular ride. my previous 2 experiences weren't like that though (but i went when they did the technical preview and then when they opened but had the tickets) so how was your experience? KIBeast
I got to ride it twice when I was there. All of the effects were working and I didn't see anyone get stuck. I also wasn't very thrilled with it either. Cool effects, but that's about it.
Jasper
Never rode it but i am looking forward to it though.
Ben
Only rode it twice, and don't plan on riding it again. I was extremely upset with this ride. The only thing I found cool was the fire. The rest of the ride was a disappointment. All three launches were hardly noticeable. I would rather go down the hill on Adventure Express. The helix after the launch, was nothing, it wasn’t even fun.
Jasper
I have heard people say the same thing. What rating did they give it on the map.
moore
I'm pretty sure they gave it a 3. The helix was freakin powerful! If you go on the ride though, expecting it to be a huge thrill, of course you are going to be dissapointed. But if you go on it expecting it to only throw out minor thrills, you will be impressed (or at least I was). I thought that added a lot of thrilling things in it that kind of border the line betwee thrill ride and family ride.
UncleHenry
All three launches were hardly noticeable. So tell me, how is 0-40 MPH not noticable?
The Bat
MY experience with IJST is that this ride is little thrills and more themeing. As I have been saying for almost a decade now, the concepts Paramount has brought to the park are both extradanory and at the same time dissapointing. In my opinion, Cincinnati,Ohio is no place for a theme park, rides like this are continuing reminders that our fair home park has been taken from amusment to theme with more emphesis on the items around the ride, and not the ride itself... If I wanted to visit attractions like this, I'd go to Orlando. So in conclusion, it is 'MY' opinion that IJST is yet another failed endavour by Paramount to bring KI to the forefront of the theme park industry, as they expressed they wanted to do in a press release 3 years ago... Oh... My... And BTW In Response To: So tell me, how is 0-40 MPH not noticable? I Went From 0-75 In My Car Yesterday On The Way To UC.. Hardly Noticeable? KIBeast
"So tell me, how is 0-40 MPH not noticable?" It's noticable, just not note worthy. After all, how many high speed car chases only go 40mph anyway? Frankly, I only noticed two of the three. Where is the boost? I know the initial launch and the launch at the helicopter. Where's the boost that isn't a launch?

It's noticable, just not note worthy. After all, how many high speed car chases only go 40mph anyway? Frankly, I only noticed two of the three. Where is the boost? I know the initial launch and the launch at the helicopter. Where's the boost that isn't a launch? True a high speed car chase would go faster but consider this too. For Top Gun how many jets only go 50 some mph. For TTD how many Dragsters only go 120mph. How many Mantis' can move at 60mph? Days of Thunder how many stock cars go like 30mph? You just gotta accept it for what it is. I also agree that the boost isn't noticeable and I was paying attention for it, it's supposed to be like right as your coming out of the tunnel into the splash. PKI Punk
There is another launch/acceleration as you come out of the billboard. As you are stand in the que, listen to the LIMs, you will hear them grab.
KIBeast
Must be a weak boost, I didn't notice it at all.
ohioamusementparkzrule
I thought that it was an ok ride the first time i rode it. I think that maybe they should close it down for awhile until they get there act together. When i was leaving PKI i heard a child telling his mom " I cant wait to ride Italian Job." Out side of the IJST they have a place were you can purchase shirts and IJST goods. But what good is that if you cant even ride the ride? They should just close IJST for a few days and make sure they can get everything going ok and then they wouldnt have people getting stuck or not seeing the effect because that was most of the ride was the effects at the top the rest of the ride is just ok. I wasnt willing to wait 45 minutes for it because by the time i waited 45 minutes who knows how many times it would break down in that amount of time. And plus i walked right onto TR:TR which in my opinion is a much better ride.
gburn07
Yes I know the most of us are in the age where the only good rides are thrill rides. I love huge rides, like most people my age (16) do. But i also tend to like less thrilling rides as well. I know this is a little off topic from what the last few of you said n' all but I actually find this more thrilling than the highly rated mummy at Universal and rides like this are the types that set this park from the other 'everyday' parks. I guess i was also lucky to have ridden it when everything worked as well. This may not be the fastest ride but its just as much fun as the bigger rides here or at any park. The theming really does help the experience, working or not lol. (by the way I did not feel that last lim boost either)
BoddaH1994
(by the way I did not feel that last lim boost either) I can't entirely confirm this, but from what I understand the 3rd LIM boost is for functionality only. Apparently if the train doesn't have a lot of weight in it, and the sensors don't think that it will make it past the magnetic brakes at the end, it will give it a boost. Once again, I don't know if it's true or not, that's just what I've heard. Is there any truth to it?
gburn07
Actually, that (just a guess) sounds exactly what it would be. I mean you (dont know the speed) go through the tunnel not too fast because you will get more speed when you hit the splash down thingy. I'm sure they didn't want to have a huge boost there as lil kiddies would fly out of their seat.
KIBeast
^That's great for you, gburn, but what about the people who don't find it as thrilling as the major coasters there? Reptar is about as intense, outside of the launches. "I can't entirely confirm this, but from what I understand the 3rd LIM boost is for functionality only. Apparently if the train doesn't have a lot of weight in it, and the sensors don't think that it will make it past the magnetic brakes at the end, it will give it a boost." That makes the most sense to me. I never heard the LIM kick in while I was in line.
Reclaimer
I've heard the LIMs kcik in at that 3rd launch...but as already stated, I really don't think it's purpose is for another launch, but rather for a small boost to make sure the trains return to the station. For the earlier comments about the "unnoticable" 0-45 mph launch debate: Sure, you may not have seen "high-speed" chases that go only 45mph...but if you watch the movie, you'd notice they drive through city streets in LA. Last time I checked, LA's streets were kind of conjested...so I don't think you'd see cars going 80mph dodging cars in a gridlock situation. So in reality, 45mph is probably pretty realistic. This IJ "isn't very fun/thrilling" argument is one that really ****es me off. Folks, it ain't supposed to be thrilling! If you want a thrill ride, walk a few steps down the midway and hop on Vortex, Tomb Raider, Beast, FoF, etc. So, if all you want is a thrill, by all means, go for it and stay away from IJ. That means shorter lines for us!
pkiboy
The IJST crew told me it goes 44 mph. but my experience on IJST is great love the air time.
gburn07
^That's great for you, gburn, but what about the people who don't find it as thrilling as the major coasters there? Thats plenty fine, just like earlier said, if you dont think its thrilling enough for any of you dont wait in line as it will be a shorter line for us. ohioamusementparkzrule
I dont even feel the second launch let alone the third.

Then, why did they advertise it that way if it's not supposed to be thrilling? The first ad with the animation said to get ready for the most thrilling.... moore
You guys argueing over the fact that car chases don't go as slow as 45mph and dragsters go much faster than 120mph are just being too freakin anal and technical!
Reclaimer
Why is this even an argument? Don't like it? Don't ride it. Like it? By all means, have fun with it!
shadow2k3
I totally agree with that. You all keep forgetting that IJST is a Family Coaster, and you who are dissapointed have way too high of expectations for a ride like this. Take it for what it is, and if you don't like it, don't ride it! As a family coaster, IJ delivers. I think it is a decent investment. ~S~
Jasper
Only a three. I can expect that froma family ride.
Mr. Christopher
The boost is hardly noticable. You really have to feel for it right as you see the opening of the billboard. Took me 3 rides to see that it was there. I suppose it's there to make sure you kinda "pop" through the billboard.
normal
Went to the park 6/19 had a great day as always.Got to ride IJST once I really liked the ride as did my oldest daughter.I just don't understand why we have a big grassy area where a park classic and a fan favorite used to be???? Oh well had a great time non the less................
KIBeast
Oh, trust me. It's not a coaster that I will ride every time I go there. I'm filing it under Adventure Express where I will ride it if there's nothing else to do. No one has forgotten it's a family coaster, so quit repeating yourself. Still no one has answered my question. If it's not supposed to be thrilling, then why was it advertised that way? Remember? Get ready for the most exciting, most thrilling....
