Who holds their arms up on flight of fear?

Featured Replies

I hold mine up on the launch but i am afraid to hold them up during the ride, everything is so close, lol.

I find that you only get the full effect of having your hands up when your on a out doors coaster.

I dont hold my hands up for FOF because I have the fear of loosing an arm. tongue.gif I challenge anyone to hold their arms up for the entire ride of TTD. Its fun for the launch, but I always have to hold on during the sprial on the downside.
I would never hold my arms up on FoF.... goes too fast. I feel much safer holding on lol

they slowed down the FOF this year

I have them up for the first half of the ride. I put them down at the MCBR becuase after that its all low, tight and close to supports. The only support I fear is that last one right after the corkscrew.

There is no support after the corkscrew. After the corkscrew, the ride ends. There is one right before the corkscrew however.

Yea maybe if there was someone sitting next to me I could see that happening but I know I hit something a bird I dont know what it was but I was on the left side of the car so I think I might have hit the tunnel IDK. I have been on The Beast millions of times by the way.

They slowed down FOF? It felt the same to me launch wise and the mid trims felt the same as well.

Its right before the train exits the bowl and goes back into the launch/brakerun tunnel. I know its there.

Yea, before the corkscrew. I worked there for 4 years. I know. The corkscrew is where the train starts to leave the "drum", not "bowl". The ride area is not known as a "bowl". Therefore the support you are thinking of is before the corkscrew. Any questions?

PKIC has it posted as a bowl, but it is known as the drum. Here are some links to the corkscrew. In the 1st one, The support actually looks like its right in the center of the corkscrew.

This pic shows it right as the corkscrew is coming to an end. You notice how it is no where near the corckscrew. It is the same support that is in the link above, just a different view. It still looks like it is in the center of the corkscrew and not the beginning nor the end of it. So, I was wrong too.

Here is another pic of the same corkscrew, again, different view.

Hope this helps and settles some things.

Might check those photo links. wink.gif

It worked for me and those pics have been there for ages. But thanks for the update and I'll know next time biggrin.gif

NOt even the tallest person who can fit in the car of any coaster at Kings Island can hit something by putting their hands straight up. If it was possible, then it would happen and the park would re-design the thing. However, most people who commonly hit their hands on The Beast tunnel, are the people who dont listen and stick their arms out to the side.

Well, Things feel faster when you are inside a building.

They would say keep your arms down all the way if the supports were going to hit u. Plus it wouldnt be safe.

That is the support, FOF/Z. I went inside the "drum" at BeastBuzz this year. That support just alwase scares me. I call it a bowl becuase it is a "Spagheti Bowl" type ride.

I know, but keep in mind you were there for like 1 day and I was there for over 4 years, so I know it like the back of my hand. You dont come no where near that support and its as safe as it can be laugh.gif

You Would think if it wasn't safe someone would already be hurt and PKI would be sued and would make sure the probolem is fixed so it won't happen again. duh

Of course it's safe.

i held my arms up,but i thought they were going to hit something. This is the best ride in the park!

I cannot hold my arms up in the air with the over the shoulder restraint. How can you?

Have a great day!

Speaking of FOF having over the shoulder restraints, when it did it was designed to be able to fit through everything with the restraints up.
