Reclaimer
So, 2006 passes are coming this week, if memory serves me correctly. Being that this season was my first at having a pass, I had a couple questions regarding renewal. First, how much was it to get a new pass last year? I know that since you got them so early, you go a good discount...how much was that discount last year? Also, say I renew next week. If I remember correctly, they issue new passes every year...so would I have to (or be able to) get my pass/picture printed when I renew, or do I wait 'til next April? Any other helpful renewal tips would be appreciated!
harvesterofyoursorrow
I payed 80 dollars since I got it with 3 friends. I dont remember the early discount from last year but I'm pretty sure you got a free parking pass. I think (THINK) that you keep your old pass. Correct me if I'm wrong. And if you didnt keep the old card, You would get the picture taken now. I remember walking into the park on the last day of operation and seeing the long line for Gold Pass photos. Granted, The Beast line at night was longer then that.
CoastersRZ
You do have to get a new season pass card made. You can have it processed (made) as soon as you purchase the pass, which is when you will get your picture taken. In the past couple of seasons, they have offered free parking, as well as reduced prices, if you buy before the end of the operating season in October. HelixSpiral
I thought they were no longer issuing new cards every year, just renewing the passes in the computer system. AFAIK, the cards do not have the year on them anymore.
BoddaH1994
I thought they were no longer issuing new cards every year, just renewing the passes in the computer system. AFAIK, the cards do not have the year on them anymore. That would also account as to why they don't say "parking" on them since you might buy it one year and not the next. I think you should save $10 on the pass (since that's the reissue fee) if you renew without getting a new physical pass.
Buckeye-Beast
We bought a 4-pack of 2005 passes last August for $260 and that included parking. Last year was our second year, and I think they give you an additional discount if you had a pass the previous year. We had to get new cards processed for 2005 before FearFest because they said our 2004 passes would not let us in after the regular season. coastergirl
You can buy 2006 gold passes now. They have the updated information on PKI today. It is 74.99 per person if you buy the 4 pack and that includes parking.
Buckeye-Beast
I just called PKI. There is a discount if you are renewing from 2005, $269 to renew a four pack instead of $299 for 4 gold passes, this includes free gold upgrade and parking. I'm not sure what the individual renewal is but I would guess it free upgrade and parking also. I don't see any info about this on the website, but if you call 1-800-288-0808 and listen to the message it says to let the operator know if you are renewing. This price is not available online. I hope this saves some of you a little $$$.

coastergirl
Hm...I may go to Carowinds and buy one of their passes and use it at PKI! Does anybody know if you still get the perks? We looked into this last year and they told us that we would be able to get into the park with the passes but the passes wouldn't be good for any of the other perks. So if you don't care about the free parking, walk on rides, meal deals and early rides it would be worth it. Plus you would have to go to PCW to have them processed. CoastersRZ
Yes, all perks, and parking passes are good at the park that issued the pass. Currently, in order to enter another Paramount Park, you must show your season pass to the Guest Relations window to get a ticket to enter the park. The turnstiles as of yet do not recognise passes from other Paramount Parks (although I heard that they may be looking into doing this in the future). Why do people call Paramount`s Carowinds PCW? It get confusing when refering to the park north of the border that is PCW: Paramount Canada`s Wonderland.
dionmarx
I've been to all 5 parks, and all the perks work, including parking, because once you are in the park, the passes are not park specific. They only drawback,if you got your S/P at Carowinds, and used it primarily at PKI, you would have to go to guest relations to get a pass every time you enter the park the 1st time each day... And at PKI, they scan your pass for parking, at Carowinds, when I was there in June, they did not.. So I do not know if it would work at PKI.. If they do not have a campground in place for 2006, I won't be back anyways.. Rick
CoastersRZ
Well, I have used my season pass at Carowinds in 2003, and they did not accept the parking because it was from PKI. I do not believe the gold pass perks are supposed to be available to other Paramount Park pass holders. For example, I know when I have picked up my walk on weekend tickets, they have scanned my season pass before.
Guest faceoff
I purchased my 2006 season pass. Having a 2005 pass was a great idea. I can't wait to have it processed. Have a nice day. Tom
